Hello,
Does anyone know about the "Security Pack" of the Darty Box? If so, how effective is it?
Thank you.

I'm sorry but I allow myself to react, Darty, like other internet service providers, does not create antivirus software; they have agreements with the company F-Secure, which supplies Neuf and Orange, so whether you are with one or the other, you will have the same product, the ergonomics change but the engine is the same. Moreover, it is not just antivirus but a security pack, hence its name, as it contains anti-spam, anti-phishing, firewall, and antivirus
(except Free which offers McAfee)
Then, no antivirus is "the best"; each has its strengths and weaknesses. Sorry, I'm not pro-Kaspersky, quite the opposite having had a bad experience while others do not complain about it. I would say that you should choose the antivirus that best suits your needs, whether it is more resource-intensive but more effective (not always true) or lighter, and see if you take a complete solution or just antivirus.

Kapersky is better than Fsecure, but that's not the issue with the Pack; the worst part is selling nothing, the services are frankly very bad. The firewall and such come with all internet security packs, so Darty's offers nothing extra except that it's three times more expensive.
Hi,
The Security Pack is a software antivirus, but I recommend you buy a REAL (excuse my expression ^^) antivirus like Kaspersky Internet Security, which is the best and protects you from everything... after it's up to you to see if the pack is cheaper...

Yes, I read on the site that Kaspersky is one of the best, but I am already equipped with the Darty Pack and just wanted to know if it is adequate considering the fact that I really do very little on my computer at the moment. I have the impression that few people know it.
In any case, I thank you for your response and wish you a good evening and much happiness in life.

No, the Darty serenity pack boasts services it doesn't deliver, with perhaps the slowest backup on the whole web, optimization corresponding to a simple use of Windows tools (so tools you already have if you're on Windows), and the antivirus costs 39 euros on the Fsecure site (an antivirus that slows down the computer). Furthermore, Darty's technical service treats people like idiots when trying to justify the slowness of the backup. Absolutely to be avoided.
It does more than just detect. I couldn't manually remove a Trojan either, nor could Norton. You just have to manually choose what it detected and select to delete the infected file; it wasn't a Windows file (thankfully) it came from who knows where, probably from the sender, but it could happen with a Windows file. You can delete it, but you have to put it back in its place afterward (either by using the Windows CD or downloading it). It's very effective for those who surf a lot on the web, or there's the cleaning option, but that doesn't always work. I prefer to delete the infected file directly (I’d rather delete it and reinstall the original without any worries), and fortunately, I don't get viruses every day either ^^'. See you soon.
Hello
a friend has this thing
honestly I doubt the effectiveness of the pack
which let through without even flinching "internet security 2010"
after which extreme slowdowns, deterioration into spam, various alerts, in short .... formatting and reinstalling the
system was necessary (we couldn't manage to remove this very harmful spyware in manual mode)

Hi Birguite
The antivirus packs seem pretty good, but I'm not super trusting of them.
Plus, they're probably paid.
I usually recommend Antivir, which is very effective and especially free.
Combined with AntiMalwareByte, you'll have a top-notch PC, and for €0
Microsoft Security Essentials is also a very good antivirus; I regularly recommend it.
That's just my opinion, and it helps avoid installing junk on your PC and spending a fortune :)

I asked for help, either no one responds to me or they talk to me with half of the message erased.... I'm disappointed.

yes but ...
you need to have nerves of steel!
for me, it slows down my computer.
and there's always something to do:
optimization to supposedly make it perform better,
backups to do regularly even though I still don't understand,
updates that keep appearing,
analyze this and that,
etc ...
it takes me an hour every day!
for supposedly 7.80 € per month ...
when they just charged me 11.97 €!!!
THIEVES!!!

Hello everyone, the Darty security pack is great
includes: anti-virus, anti-spyware... (F-Secure which is really good) parental control
especially the software like F-Secure which is almost like Kaspersky
I have the pack and with it you're at ease

False, but you might be an employee of Darty. I got fooled with this package and the technical service explained to me that the slowness was normal, after trying to make me believe that the problem came from my internet service provider, then from my computer, and finally admitted that it would take months to back up 30 GB of data. I lost 89 euros but I will try to save a few potential victims. DO NOT GET THE DARTY SERENITY PACKAGE.
It's me again, adame1965, I forgot: today even, I received a message from DARTY telling me that the backup hasn't been done in a week. What what what ???!!! How do they know???!!! Isn't their antivirus more like a virus to spy on us???!!! Our computer sends them everything we do!!!
Yes, sometimes it works. I click on the green shield from Darty. And I do the analysis... and the green comes back on its own. Just to see if a virus is preventing the Darty antivirus. And it exists! So the Darty antivirus is worthless! Earlier, Pénélope wrote that she had canceled her Darty antivirus. While I have a one-year commitment.
The Serenity pack includes 3 software:
an Avanquest software to optimize your PC (driver updates, optimization...),
an F-Secure software for antivirus and the protection of privacy and minors,
Oodrive's AdBackup for the remote backup of personal and professional data.
I am very satisfied; it is a complete suite for protection, optimization, and backup, and we have installed it on our two family PCs, we haven't had any problems,
it's all automatic and there are only three buttons for everything. We couldn't install it on the 3rd PC because it uses Windows XP, there's a problem with that (the other two are on Windows 7 and Vista)
Also, if you use Mozilla, the add-ons WOT and Adblock Plus are essential!
I added Spybot (which has proven itself) to control the registry (maybe it's unnecessary and duplicates Darty),
I also added Secunia. (unnecessary?)
The pack does everything: PC auto-cleaning, defragmentation, like CCleaner or TuneUp
Remote access monitoring, intrusion (firewall), application control, so yes, you get messages to authorize applications attempting to connect to the Internet, but if you're not clueless it's easy: yes if you know it / no if you don't know it. Mail monitoring, viruses, spyware, deep guard. Automatic updates monitoring for Windows and antivirus. Browser monitoring.
And if your PC crashes (saving your vacation photos online, no problem)!
For me, it's the best equipment for your PC. Even if this set can be improved, for example, it's silly that F-Secure (Darty Security) asks me to authorize Avanquest (Darty Optimization); it's Darty controlling Darty!!!
They could include Spybot, Secunia, or advise on driver updates, include elements from CCleaner or TuneUp, PC Doctor, and advise on installing WOT, Adblock Plus, and privacy control (deleting cookies, temporary files, internet traces (if it doesn't already do this, apparently it does???) The thing would also be to automatically create system restore points.
The interface is very simple!!! and mostly automated, unlike heavy ones like Zone Alarm for the firewall. But if you go into the settings, it becomes very, very detailed and complicated for adjustments (for advanced users)
If someone from Darty could tell us more.

No problem with backing up photos online? That's the example given by the Darty technician when I asked why a dozen text files (about 5 MB) took two hours to upload. You may be responding on behalf of Darty because honestly, no one who spends 89 euros for this package can be satisfied with a service that would take a month to upload their vacation photos.
Hello everyone, I read all the comments above and I would like to say that I have the Darty Serenity pack and it works great, I even find that my computer is faster, it doesn't take up much space (in any case not a lot, let's not exaggerate) I have been infected several times and Darty Security has solved the problem perfectly and quickly, thanks to the optimization my PC is faster and the backup is useful for me, I recommend the Darty Serenity pack (and just to say, Darty is always very friendly on the phone).
So based on your comment, you are an employee of Darty because if you really had this package and had a Darty technician on the line, you would regret that it is not possible to file a class action against Darty. This package offers nothing except the Fsecure antivirus, which is more expensive than the one sold by Fsecure itself. Moreover, this software greatly slows down the computer, which is known from tests conducted by several consumer associations and IT websites.
Well, if you already have the pack, there's no need to change it; it's still a protection ;-) but if, for instance, you catch a virus, it will probably detect it, but I think it won't be able to eradicate it (well, some of them!). But otherwise, don't change it, for example (I don't know how you pay) if you've paid for a year. But if you reach the deadline, get Kaspersky!
Thanks for the happiness! ^^ You too!

I bought a small computer at DARTY and at the same time, as a start and for experience, I took their security package for almost €8 a month, with automatic withdrawal. I first tried the computer without the antivirus. Then I worked with the antivirus. The difference is huge: with the antivirus, the computer is glitchy and very slow. I'm disappointed. And this will last a year! All the time, the computer asks me to do things. And when I click yes or ok... it's three hours of waiting!!! It's extremely complicated!!! They've imposed a professional jargon on us. You'd need to go back to school to get a vocational diploma in IT just to use a simple computer to communicate with family in Morocco!!! After several weeks of trying to understand how their package works... it's a bit better, but I've become their slave and didn't learn anything! I got really angry, I cried once. I imagine some people must lose it. DARTY is responsible. If you want a fix, you'll need to be many, with the support of an IT expert and a psychiatrist to win a lawsuit. I have another computer with the free Avast antivirus, and it has no problems!
