Hello,
I downloaded COMODO ANTIVIRUS.
I currently have Antivir and since I have COMODO FIREWALL PRO 3.21
on top, I thought that combining the two COMODOs would be better BUT
now is it any good and just as good as others???
Many say it's very good and others say: TOTAL CRAP (sorry).
So what do you think???

CIS (Comodo Internet Security) is a very good set!
The firewall is excellent and no one will say otherwise!
The antivirus is very strange but it detects viruses (known and unknown) very well; the only problem is that viruses are blocked without notifying you and therefore without being logged in the event log.
CIS has been in French for at least a month (for those who can't read on the Comodo France forums).
The Defense+ protection is excellent but very intrusive (like Spyware Terminator).
In short, it's the best (better than Avira, which does not completely remove viruses!!!!)

Hello!
I don't know if Comodo antivirus is good. If I were you, I would keep Antivir which is excellent. Unless, of course, the COMODO firewall conflicts with it (that happens because it can be a bit invasive and inflexible). If that's the case, you could use the COMODO antivirus and I think there won't be any conflicts.
For now, keep Antivir.

Hello. I read the discussion. As far as I'm concerned, I've been using Comodo for at least a year. I'm very satisfied with it. I find it to be a very reliable suite. You just need to configure it properly. For over a year, it's the only security log that I fully trust.

As of today, the new Comodo Internet Security Premium free version is formidable. I tested it on a site that lists all recent viruses, rogues (fake AV, etc.). Its detection is far superior to that of Antivir or even Kaspersky or Bitdefender.
Looking forward

I completely disagree.
I just installed Comodo antivirus + firewall and it detected a virus that Avira had never seen.
Moreover, it is much lighter and completely free.
And if you had to install additional software, it's because you messed up and downloaded the paid pro version, which means you got a demo.
For your information, here is the correct link: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_cis.html
I will continue testing it and let you know more. -
Commodo Internet Security free (full suite, antivirus firewall, anti-spyware... and all of this for free)
Pros
Free of charge
Easy installation and uninstallation (no settings)
Regular updates
Excellent firewall
Antivirus (I injected a few viruses.... it seems to hold up)
To be confirmed, but it also seems as lightweight as Antivir (I can't recall the system resource used by Antivir)
Also protects the Windows system
A lot of possible settings (for the more paranoid...)
.....
Cons
In English (but oh well...)
There is another free antivirus that I tested and that is not too bad = Rising antivirus free (Chinese antivirus... don't worry, it's in English) -
Hello
No one is stopping you from testing any commode that you like.
For now, you have an excellent assortment of antivirus/firewall available for free; security deserves to overlook the visual aspect or the language, it's up to you.
If you have never had serious infections, read a bit on the security forum before abandoning your good antivirus.-
Well, in response to everyone...
I finally tested COMODO Antivirus and it is therefore
very nice in aesthetics but not great in terms of protection.
Additionally, you need to add an extra program during installation and to
activate it, you need a license (like Avast!) but
it never arrived in any of my 3 email inboxes!!!
So I went back to Antivir and kept COMODO Firewall Pro!
Thanks to everyone!

I agree with you that Antivir is not an aesthetic bomb, but I prioritize security over beauty. Comodo certainly works a lot on the design of its products, but as Dorgane said, it’s better to be realistic and stick with Antivir. Comodo can't be the best at everything. They created the best firewall of this year, which is already not bad!
There is no skin for Antivir.

What are you talking about?

What you see on the net regarding the famous French patch corresponds to two things:
_The patch for Comodo Firewall version 2.6 (which is significantly less effective than the current one)
_Or nonsense
The only sure way to see if the French patch is available is to periodically check for updates ("Miscellaneous" => "Check for Updates"). Because there you'll be sure it's not nonsense.

Hello.
For your information, the "new" version as you say has been out for over two months.
The firewall is excellent, but the antivirus is still in its infancy. It is therefore dangerous to install it for the long term at the moment.
However, considering the quality of Comodo's software, it should be monitored as it may not be bad at all in about a year, in my opinion. -
Hello everyone,
I used to use G-data internet security (from 2006 to 2009), it is powerful and offers good protection but is heavy!
Now (I'm low on money) I was happy to find this free, lightweight, and powerful security suite!
Try it, you'll adopt it!
It found a virus (apparently not very dangerous)
and on the other hand, a lot of suspicious files (that weren't suspicious)
Pros
FREE
powerful
lightweight
many possible settings
in French
simple and practical interface
presence of a VPN server to increase security (optionally free)
Cons
Strong heuristic
many false alerts
paranoia mode (really paranoid!!!)
virus database a bit light (for now) (it's improving according to what I've read)
missing some modes (game mode, turbo mode,...)
I don't know if it's the case (missing an email scanner) -
Merci en plus beaucoup disent que pour désinstaller c'est super chaud et que ça te bloque TOUT ! ??? vrai ?
-
Are you talking about Antivir? If so, I don't think so. Uninstallation issues mainly come from software like Avast! Norton 360 and others.
To uninstall it, it's better to download CCLeaner, start the uninstallation of Antivir, restart the PC, and then perform a registry error check with CCLeaner.

In addition, it has aesthetics = unlike antivir which is too plain...
OTHERWISE, how do you create a skin for antivir ??????? -
-
Are you talking about a potential skin for Antivir? I don't know if that's on the agenda! It's like asking me when the French patch for the Comodo firewall will be released!

It's indeed difficult to find a good firewall comparison, but https://dotclear.placeoweb.com/post/Meilleur-firewall-gratuit offers an interesting link http://www.matousec.com/index.html (in English)
