SATA not recognized by KT6V MS 7021

Hello,
I recently found that my computer runs for 20 minutes after booting up, then crashes with a message saying the hard drive is dead.
So I bought a HDD (WD SATA 300, 500GB).
Connected it, added a jumper because the motherboard does not support SATA 300 but only 150 at most.
SATA IDE enabled in the BIOS, and when pressing Tab at startup (RAID menu), the computer detects the drive. The first issue is that it should be a menu, but the keyboard guidance provided does not work.
Windows XP does not recognize the drive and tells me: "no disk drive detected."
If you could help me...
Thank you
Brmax

First of all, here is the site for your motherboard:

    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=567&maincat_no=1

I would recommend doing a BIOS flash as your motherboard is not quite new anymore ;)

In fact, to make XP recognize a SATA drive, it needs its drivers (on a floppy disk with XP...) during the Windows installation... and press F6 to insert them...

http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 5249 install Windows XP on a SATA disk

Thank you, I finally found where those f****** drivers were (they're not well organized at MSI...) and the disk is installed.

      Hello,

I am unable to get my SATA disk detected by the BIOS, even though I have enabled the SATA options.

What should I enable or disable in the BIOS to make it detectable at boot?

      Thank you for your help.

Drivers must be brought on a floppy disk during installation (if you reinstall Windows on it)
