    Hello,
I disassembled my mpix 355 and I think the hard drive is dead. Do you know if putting in another one will work?

    Thanks in advance

That's all that exists, I don't think a driver is necessary.
If you need more explanations, contact me.
    Bye.

    Hi,

    Which driver?

On XP, it's not needed. Just for 98 and SE.
Unless it's the software "Cryptext" that is used to encrypt or decrypt videos.
Or maybe you formatted your hard drive and then you'll need to check with STOREX.

My PC does not recognize my MPX 351 hard drive, it asks me for the driver even though my PC is running XP.

Hello, I also had problems with my Mpis-355, it wasn't responding at all and when I connected it to my PC, it was recognized in the device manager but not in the My Computer.
I then disassembled the Mpix and connected its hard drive to an external hard drive bay.
Immediately it was recognized by my PC, I deleted some files and then installed Bank30.rom http://www.storex.fr/storex/download/MPIX3G/instruction_de_MAJ_mpix355.htm
Be sure to check if it is suitable for other Mpix models.
But I think that connecting the hard drive to an external bay can fix a lot of things, since it is recognized by the PC, it is possible to format it if necessary. I had put DVD files instead of AVI, and that might have blocked something, but now everything works wonderfully and to think it was sitting on my desk for 6 months.
I hope this can help others.
      Cheers, Alain

Just a quick question, how did you dismantle the hard drive? I'm looking to recover a disk without having to break open the case.

        Thanks in advance.

On one side of the MPix 355, there is one of the trims, the one where the serial number is just glued, and below it, the screws to remove it.
But I didn't have to change my HD, I just connected it to a bay for an external hard drive, and from there I was able to make it usable again.
    Hi and good luck.

Thanks for the info, I was able to take apart the drive and check it, and realized that the platters were dead.

At least the enclosure works properly.

What do you mean by updating? Normally, you shouldn't have to do anything special, just plug it in and then put the files you want on it unless you have compatibility issues with certain models, but for that, check the Club Mpix website, you might find the solution there.
      Good luck.

I don't know, I have a Storex Club Mpix 355 500GB, and I've been trying to install the multimedia, but it's almost impossible at my place. However, it works well with my TV, even though I have XP, and it should recognize it right away. I'm not sure if I need a CD or anything to make this multimedia work with my PC.
