Hello everyone,
I need your help to connect my PS3 to the internet.
I am getting the following message during the connection test: DNS Error 80710102
I know that the error I have during the connection test is common, but despite all the responses I have seen on other forums or posts, they have not helped me resolve my issue.
My setup is as follows:
PC running Windows Vista
I am with Neuf with an old box that is connected to my PC via an Ethernet cable
To get internet on the PS3, I bought a Hercules Wi-Fi key because my box does not have Wi-Fi.
During my first connection test, everything worked correctly, I filled in all the steps automatically (in scan, my key is detected at 100% and in security, I set it to none)
The connection test was OK, I browsed the internet and then during the update to version 2.10, I got an error message.
The next day, the internet connection no longer worked!
Even obtaining the IP address failed!
I then entered the manual information which is as follows:
IP address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS: 80.118.192.100
Secondary DNS: 80.118.196.36
MTU/auto
Proxy server/do not use
NPnP/not available
Now during the connection test, the IP address is OK, but after the IP address, I always get the same message: DNS Error 80710102.
After rebooting the PC + MODEM, it's still the same.
For your information, in the configuration of my key, my PS3 is indeed on the list of authorized MAC addresses to connect.
Thank you in advance for your help

Hello everyone.
I bought my PS3 yesterday.
This morning I wanted to connect it to the internet but had problems with DNS errors and then I received a message: Key exchange timeout. So I scoured many forums. Some recommended setting it up manually.
This is what worked for me, here’s my method.
I have an Inventel Livebox from Orange. So this message is for those who want to connect their Livebox and PS3 wirelessly (Wi-Fi).
First, go to the following address in your Livebox:
http://192.168.1.1 (Livebox configuration address).
Username: admin
Password: admin this is common to all Sagem or Inventel Liveboxes.
Then go to:
- Configuration
then to Advanced
and finally to Wireless
There you need to check: WEP security only if WPA security is checked. The WEP is said to work wonderfully. Then click SUBMIT.
The Livebox will then restart; you will lose your internet connection while the Livebox restarts, the connection will come back in about 2 minutes (wait for the @ symbol to be solid).
Once the Livebox is ready, go to your PS3, click on Network Settings.
It's easy, then click on Scan, and click on your Livebox or router.
You have three choices: None, WEP, and WPA... something.
Click on WEP, then enter your WEP key (normally found under your Livebox). Lowercase letters work on the PS3.
Once the key is entered, do not click Enter on the keyboard, go to your Livebox and set it to Wi-Fi association: Press button 1. Normally, a red light should blink. For SAGEM, it’s a small black stick underneath. Once your Livebox is in association mode, return to your PS3.
Click Enter to enter the key. Wait and see what the PS3 shows you.
Then click on automatic. You're all set.
