Hi, not really a pro with PCs but more of a computer enthusiast, I bought the Medion Aldi and I'm very happy with it. Surprise: mine has a floppy disk drive! Yes, yes, it is indeed the Lifetec Multimedia with all the bells and whistles mentioned above. The only problem is: I can't pick up the TV, meaning I can't tune the channels and stations with the Power Cinema software. Does anyone have an idea?
Ah, that's so great! I just found the Medion drivers for my PC (you have to enter the serial number)...
"Flash XL" is what they call the Connect XL module of this PC. Anyway, I download the drivers, I launch the file (there's only one), and there's a great interface with 3 boxes: "Blank, Program, Verify", a START button at the bottom, grayed out so I can't click on it, with "Last Update 2003.03.17" written next to it, and nothing happens... Can someone help me before I lose my mind!!

I know why it's acting up, and it's not related to the drivers. This problem can resolve itself: one fine morning you'll turn on the computer, and the cards will be accessible again... Maybe that's already happened to you? If not, here's how to proceed:
Behind the tower, there should be a switch; toggle it to 0. Then unplug the power cord from the tower, and hold down the power button on the front of the tower for about 20 seconds. Then plug the cable back in and toggle the switch behind the tower back to 1. Turn on the computer: magic, magic, the cards are working again!
If it doesn't work, email me; don't worry, we'll find a solution very quickly.

Hello, I would like to follow your instructions, but I would first like to know what effect all these maneuvers have. Does it reset something at the hardware level or elsewhere? What effect does it have on the PC when we press the power button for 20 seconds while there is no power to the computer? And where did you find this technique?
Because it's great if it works, and I thank you for that, but I prefer to understand your solution in case I have a similar problem on another PC, etc... Thanks again!

What a talent, isn't it?
Explanations: the tower contains a certain number of capacitors upstream of your cards (including the motherboard, which can also have functioning issues). After the computer is turned off, these capacitors remain partially charged, which can sometimes create a conflict when you turn the computer back on. Thanks to the manipulation I explained to you, you can discharge the capacitors, and when you turn the computer back on, the source of conflicts has disappeared (that's the magic part).

???? We don't have all the information????
Oh! Right! You didn't specify the color of the tablecloths IDE ;-)
Joking aside... I saw this PC at ALDI. Honestly, if I didn't have one, I'd jump on it. Especially since it seems to be cheaper than that right now.
Apparently, nothing is missing. With all these options, all these ports, there's nothing better. If you tried to build it yourself with Chinese/Montgallet prices, you wouldn't succeed.
Go for it! Go ahead!
The risk is almost negligible. Plus, it's good quality gear too! (I checked on ALDI's website.

A good tip!!! Jump on it, with a PC like that you can easily earn 500 euros!!! ALDI also sometimes does good things for cheap!!!
If ALDI only made PCs of this caliber and at this price, all the other manufacturers would go out of business (they profit from the quantity and uniformity of the product)
So don't worry!!! A friend!!!

Since 20/11, there's an equivalent at LIDL for 1199 euros. Lots of USB, FireWire, network, TV, FM, VGA 2 outputs, HD WD 200 GB, 512 DDR, 6 card reader, 6.1 sound, etc.
The ALDI competitor did not take long to respond!

Hello Pilou,
listen, you can go for it with your eyes closed if it's in your budget for buying a PC this month or for Christmas.
I'm Cedric, I took advantage of this promotion in April which is pretty much the same as the one offered.
If you want, I live at 36 Boulevard de la Plaine in Grenay.
Phone 03.21.29.87.35.
Come take a look after calling me.
The only little thing I haven't thought of is the customer service, but still, it's guaranteed for 3 years.

Don't worry about customer service; the company Medion that handles it is top-notch. I bought a digital device from the Lifetec brand at the famous A, and on the day I had a problem, I contacted Medion directly. The company I reached out to via hotline tried to assist me by guiding me over the phone. When they couldn't resolve the issue, a carrier came to pick up the product from my address, and within 10 days, I received a replacement. It should be noted that the new device I have is from the higher range than mine.
This way, you avoid the intermediaries of large stores, and you save a ton of time. In terms of value for money, I'd purchase equipment from MEDION again.

Well, you were lucky because I've had a PC bought from A for two years and it's been nothing but trouble. When it was new, it never wanted to start, it went back to Medion for repairs with a dead motherboard. Then the graphics card failed. Then the fan support broke for no reason. Recently, I had a problem with the hard drive, Medion patched it up. The moral of the story is it broke down three days after its return, it goes back to Medion for repairs and they change the hard drive, the motherboard, and the case because the power switch was defective. I pick up the PC, and when I try to turn it on, nothing. Each time I call a premium-rate number and I still have a PC with problems. I think if Medion had replaced the device when it was new, it would have cost less for everyone because a PC that costs 1000 euros that always has problems should be thrown away, and I don't think my next one will be a Medion. Please, anything but this, I've really bought a piece of junk and I'm now advising everyone against it, beware of Medion PCs!
Hi!
As of today, I still haven't had any issues...
With all manufacturers, there are some PCs that screw up... Really unfortunate, you just happened to get one...
When you look at the components of these Medion PCs, it's all reputable brands... Sorry for you...
Personally, I'm not bothered by it apart from the slowness of the hard drives.
There you go
see you!

It's been almost 5 months since I've been comparing all the PCs (to replace my old P3 400 MHz) in a ton of stores, well yes, I don't buy spontaneously!
And honestly, this is a bargain, a Ferrari of a PC at an unbeatable price...
In short, a great deal!

Hi JM,
It's true that the ALDI Pentium 4 3GHz is excellent.
I know this because I bought it.
I don't know if you "tinker" a bit with peripherals, but all the very important settings for me, like the motherboard brand or changing the firmware on my burner, are deliberately blocked by MEDION and I can't update things like the motherboard BIOS or even upgrade the burner to 8X (!!) with the latest appropriate PIONEER firmware.
I hope you can eventually clarify these troubling points for me.
Anyway, thanks and good luck.
Manu

Hello!
As for me, this is the 4th PC I buy from Aldi (I change every 2 years), and I've never had to use the warranty!!
If you can afford it; don't hesitate, you won't regret it!
Plus, you'll save a lot of money!!
See you!

I finally bought this P4 3.0GHz, but what a surprise it was when I went to AL... at 8:45 AM on "D-Day" (15 minutes before the store opened): 100 people in front of the door waiting for the doors to open....
I rushed to another AL... close to this one but in a much less crowded town: by chance, I managed to put one in my cart (it was around 9:25 AM!!!) and there were no more 19-inch TFT screens, so I took one of the last 17 TFT (it's not bad either!!!), I took the opportunity to fill my cart
with a scanner.... So the hardest part was done!!!!!
The checkout process was just as tedious: 25 people in front of me at a single register (25 times 4 registers: with each cart containing 1 PC, 1 printer, or 1 scanner), so I’ll let you
imagine the atmosphere... But anyway, 1 hour and 30 minutes later, the equipment was in the trunk of my car, and I won’t hide it from you ... with a certain satisfaction!!!
As for the equipment, it's true that it's top-notch!!!! Regarding the pre-installed software, for my part, I formatted everything on the same day because it didn’t suit me.... Finally, I configured it my way with XP Pro.
Come on!!! A little criticism though: a floppy disk drive would have been welcome, just in case of a recalcitrant hard drive and to reboot the machine in the most extreme cases!!!
I’LL TRY THE EXPERIENCE AGAIN IN 2 YEARS.... 2 HOURS EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I bought this PC with the intention of putting my old 8 mm analog films from my camcorder onto DVD. Does the ATI Radeon 90 video card allow for conversion, or do I need to purchase an additional converter?
Thank you for your help

Hello,
Since there are a lot of people who were lucky enough to buy this PC... I have a small question: I had my dad, who knows nothing about it and lives far away, buy this thing, and I'm trying to find out if the graphics card has a DVI output (which determines the purchase of the monitor). For now, I just know that the ATI RADEON 9800 XL was specially made for MEDION by ATI and that its performance is between the regular 9800 and the 9800 pro.
Thanks in advance!!

I also gave in to this PC for the same reasons as you.
I can't display on the TV by connecting the video card through the VHS-C port. (I was planning to use it fully as a DVD player and media center)
Does anyone have an idea?

I would like to know where to get a cable to connect the video card to the TV (VHS-C output) with the composite output; it automatically unchecks the extension.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
I bought a PC at Aldi too! But mine is just a blank screen and it's expensive, Medion France, for over 15 days and still nothing. On the last call, they said 15 more days in inventory, too much work. I'm unlucky, my son has one that works perfectly! I've never had any image on the monitor!!!! I missed the chance that day.
hi!
I need a little help!
I can only see the Windows desktop on my TV without the icons, but I can’t watch the movie, not even a black screen that starts...
I am using the composite output of my video card.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I bought this beast too.
It's working very well. You need to:
connect the antenna (TV or radio) then in the Power program radio or TV select Auto Search for channels...
they will be saved and then you can rename and sort them (*) in Favorites.
If there are problems --> check the new (yes, already!) drivers at:
http://www.medion.fr
(I had to install them myself, because the video card didn't recognize the connection of a TV via S-VHS...)
Catch you later, kiss and have fun ;-)
Dan
at the risk of sounding very novice: can you tell me how to connect the cable? Should I connect the computer directly to the house antenna (?) or should I go through the TV?
thank you for your response
