Hello,
I bought my PS3 yesterday for Christmas with Assassin's Creed and Spider-Man 3 in HD. I put the game in, the console displays the PlayStation 3 logo as if the game is about to launch, and then I get a black screen and nothing happens!!! However, the Spider-Man DVD works!! Should I exchange it, is it the game? Help me, thanks!!

To update, simply connect the console to the internet and the update should start automatically. My Assassin's Creed updated itself and it works very well.

I bought Assassin's Creed today, I did the game update but it doesn't work and I also have the latest PS3 update version and it still doesn't work, plus I bought it new and my other games work very well.
Thank you for replying, best regards, Toinou. -
Yes, I have an error message: "The data is corrupted. Exit the game and restart it after deleting the data from Assassin's Creed." This has happened several times and it's always the same. "Disk has 26 GB free."
No, I bought it new yesterday after trying a used one that did the same thing, so I thought the second-hand game didn't work, but that's not the case.
The game starts, something appears on the screen, but after that nothing happens.
Thank you for responding, DEM86. Best regards, toinou13. -
Hello,
Does the console display an error message?
Is the game scratched?
Does the game launch, or does nothing happen at all? -
Hello,
Make the latest update via the internet: [settings]>[system update]>[update via internet]
OR have you received a MAJ CD with the console?
If so, insert this CD into the console!
Normally, the console will not recognize it!
Go to [settings]>[system update]>[update from storage media]
If the console is already up to date, are you really sure you have the latest version?
Version 2.10, I believe!
The first time you launch Assassin's Creed, does it update to game version 1.10?
I can't quite see where the problem could come from except for an update that hasn't been done!
Since all your other games work, the Blu-ray drive shouldn't have any problems. -
How do you connect the PlayStation 3 to the internet?
Which update should be downloaded? AND ON WHICH SITE??
Thank youuu -

You need to install the latest update for PS3, version 2.10, and then everything will work, including the blocked Blu-ray patches. Your PS3 will be able to read all games as well as DIVX, and the 1.1 Blu-ray feature will also work.
-
So the problem with Assassin's Creed is that it is not formatted for the PS3
if you don't have the 2.10 update, the game doesn't run
if you install the 2.10 update, the game causes "freezes" that force the player to perform a hard shutdown of the console, which it doesn't appreciate...
Some people have lost their consoles because of this...
This game is certainly beautiful, but it's a console killer, just like GTA SA or GoW II were in their time. -
Hello everyone, I just want to know what update you are on via the internet. I hope someone will respond to me quickly.

Hello, can you tell me why Assassin's Creed freezes on PS3 but with the new patch it freezes less? Can you help me?

Hello everyone
Here is my problem, I bought the PS3 in November 2008 and all the updates (console and game) have been done via the internet. I progress in the game until sequence 4 and then when starting the sequence, the game crashes and tells me "Unable to read data, the disc is dirty or damaged." I take out the disc and examine it but nothing (at the same time I take care of my games: no fingerprints, no scratches, no dust). As a result, the console gets stuck, I turn it off and restart the game: same issue. I try GTA4 and GRAN TURISMO, which I borrowed (same clean disc) and no problem. I call customer service, the guy tells me to reset the console to eliminate the updates. What’s the point of updates in this case, especially since I already had issues with the game crashing before doing the updates on Assassin's Creed?
Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

No, it's not just a matter of updating!!! I bought the same pack as you, Spider. 3, and I bought Assassin's Creed and the game won't launch, so I tried to update it with the included CD, but that didn't work either. I scratched (for a little while anyway), and in the end, it's a parental code issue for games! Knowing that the game is 18+, you need to set your console to level 9, and then it will work! Enjoy the game!

Hello,
I also have the same issue, namely "The data is corrupted. Quit the game and restart it after deleting the data for Assassin's Creed."
I have read all the previous posts, including the one about parental controls. Nothing works after adjusting the control level; the message persists and the game won't start.
Any ideas?
My other games (GT4, GT 5 Prologue) are obviously running without issues...
My TV is a full HD and has never caused me problems with resolutions.

Hello,
I had the same problem.
My PS3 wouldn't read this game. After persistent attempts, the PS3 got stuck. As a result, it restored the hard drive.
Since then, I can play this game without any issues!
I hope this intervention can help you. -
Hi, you need to update using the CD provided with the PS3 and then it will work; it happened to me too.

I have the same problem, the screen is completely black. How do we update that you mentioned?
