Hello,
I have a little problem with the Sims 2 expansion pack "Season's Greetings".
When I insert it into the drive, nothing happens, the drive does not recognize the CD.
However, my computer recognizes the other expansion packs and the CD is recognized on other computers... What is going on?
Thank you in advance.

Maybe the format is not recognized by your computer anymore?
Search on Google and try to download the faulty format...

Hi there!
Put your CD in the drive and if nothing happens, go to My Computer and open the relevant drive.
What's happening?
Safe travels!

I'm also having trouble with my Sism 2 game; it won't work :( ... nothing appears for me to install it :( ... I go to My Computer... and it feels like there's no disk at all... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Oh yes, I forgot to specify that too: when I go to My Computer and click on the CD drive, there’s nothing there except what’s ready to burn...
Yes apparently lol.
But I think it has nothing to do with it because this afternoon I already installed another additional drive like that.

Certainly! Here is the translation:
"Yes, I just noticed that this is a DVD-ROM PC.
Even putting it in the DVD drive of the PC, nothing happens, the same.
I go to My Computer and it tells me to insert a CD...
How can I check if my drive is working?"

Yes, it must be a driver issue.
Try downloading it from the internet using the brand + model of your drive.
You're welcome, it was a pleasure for me to help you.

I have exactly the same problem!
My player does not recognize my Sims!
Yet I was playing with my Sims a while back and I had to uninstall them due to memory issues.
Now I no longer have them, but it doesn't work anymore!
I put the Sims in both drives, but nothing!
In my computer, there is nothing regarding the Sims, what should I do? :(
Where could the problem possibly come from?

I solved my problem... if you have a problem like mine reading your CD/DVD-ROMs, maybe your lens is dirty ^^ you either need to buy a cleaning disc or open the case (be careful) and clean the lens with a simple cotton swab moistened with FINE droplets of 90° alcohol, but be careful, VERY LITTLE!!!! you must not wet the lens! it's a meticulous job that requires precision, so BE CAREFUL ;) personally, that's what I did and it works ;) bye =D
Good evening!
I had the same problem; my CD-ROM was working, I was downloading hairstyles, etc. at the same time, my computer crashed, and bam! Once I tried to restart the signs, it was impossible! "Fatal error, the application will be closed"! I deleted more than half of my downloads, but nothing to do, the same error message keeps appearing! Please help me, thank you.

Hello, I also have a problem installing The Sims Deluxe, at first it showed me: "Component error" so I did this:
If you receive an error message with the game The Sims Deluxe during installation: "Component transfer error", but your game doesn’t seem to be scratched, please follow the procedure described below:
- Create a folder on your Windows desktop, call it "cd sims"
- Then go to "My Computer", right-click on the icon of CD 1 of The Sims Deluxe that appears in your CD-ROM drive, and left-click on "explore".
- In the window that opens, press "CTRL" and "A" at the same time to select all the files on the CD, then right-click on these files, and left-click on "copy".
- Go to the cd sims directory, then right-click in this directory, and left-click on "paste". The contents of the CD will then be copied to the directory.
- Once the copy is complete, insert CD 2 of the game, double-click on the "setup" directory and in the same way as for CD 1, copy its contents but this time into the "setup" folder of the "cd copy" directory. So that you have the data files 1, 2, 3, and 4.cab in the setup folder.
- Once the copy is complete, eject CD 2 from your drive. Then start the installation from the "setup.exe" icon that is located in the "setup" folder of the "cd sims" directory.
If the game installs successfully using this procedure, delete the "cd sims" folder and launch the game by inserting CD 1 of The Sims Deluxe.
However, I couldn't finish this because I have another problem, when I launch the game my computer asks me:
"To continue the installation please insert CD 2 of The Sims Deluxe"
I insert the CD and then it tells me: "This is not the correct CD"
Yet it is the correct CD, what can I do??
Configuration: Windows Vista Home Basic 2007
Thank you for helping me as soon as possible! Please!
Lily

Hello everyone,
It turns out that when I put my CD in The Sims 2: Seasons, it displays the window "THE SIMS 2: SEASONS" with a white background, and then it tells me to insert the correct CD... even though it is the right one!
What should I do?
A software to play without the CD??
Thanks in advance.

A personal PC that I "supervise" had the issue of reading an additional DVD of The Sims II. With certain DVDs, the drive detected the disc in the drive but Windows absolutely refused to read it, resulting in the error message "No disk in the drive."
I removed the DVD drive from the PC case, opened the DVD drive (6 screws + clips), disassembled some circuit boards to access the lens, cleaned the lens with a cotton swab + 90° alcohol. Then reassembled everything and reconnected it in the PC case.
Result: Windows now detects the DVD and reads it without any problem, and the game works.

I have the same problem, it doesn't recognize the CD, but I'm afraid to clean the lens, I don't really know how to manage to take everything out, and find what works :s
Hi!
Me, before, my computer used to recognize all CDs very well, including the Sims.
A little while ago, I put the Sims in the drive, and nothing happened.
I went to "My Computer" and clicked on the icon, and it said:
"H:/ The device is not ready." I thought it might be the
drive that was glitching, so I put in another CD, and it worked.
If someone could help me figure out what the problem is, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
