Using the OLIVETTI SIMPLE WAY scanner

Hello,

I have the OLIVETTI SIMPLE WAY printer. The printing and photocopying functions work, but scanning does not.

The error message is: "Unable to scan because no device has been detected".

The scanning also does not work directly from the printer's keyboard.

I want to specify that it is the regular SIMPLE WAY with a USB cable connection.

    There you go! My problem is solved (enjoy)

    For those experiencing this kind of issue on Windows Vista, I found drivers for the printer that allow scanning and resolve the recurring message "Cannot scan because no device has been detected"

    The problem on Vista is that it does not differentiate between the printer and the scanner. Indeed, we can see in the device manager that Simple Way is not recognized as an Imaging Device because the drivers are made for Windows XP, while the Vista drivers mentioned above address this error and resolve the issue for Vista users.

      Just go to the site olivetti.com and download the Vista driver; there are 2, approximately 36 MB and another heavier one. I took the first one and it works. Good luck.

    Hello everyone,
    I have an Olivetti anyway photo fax, and I'm having the same problem,
    the scanner doesn't work and it indicates that no device has been found.
    Plus, with Vista, it's a total nightmare because the device search
    doesn't differentiate between the scanner and the printer. So big problem!!!
    Please give me a little help if you have the solution.

    YAY I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID, BASICALLY I DID EVERYTHING but it works!!! yayyyyyyy
    I changed the cable and did all the installations!!! or I don't know what I did.

    I have exactly the same problem as you ... Did you find a solution? I've installed and uninstalled everything ... still the same thing, the worst part is that it was working the day before!

    Hello,
    exactly the same problem for us. We called OLIVETTI (technical support) and they told us to change the USB cable and to buy a USB 2.0 cable. (Apparently they were aware of the issue). We just did that and it still doesn't work!!!
    We might call them again tomorrow. If it works, we'll keep you posted.

    It’s probably a driver problem; at least that was the case for me.
    So go take a look in your device manager in your control panel and check if your drivers are working. If they are not working, go look for drivers on the net or in the folder C:\WINDOWS\inf.

    If that doesn’t work after that, I wish you good luck.

    Apparently, if there is anything that works even less well than Olivetti equipment, it is their after-sales service, incapable of
    solving this clearly identified problem for months!

    I have the same problem as you, all the printer options work except the scanner, I just can't get it to work. I've looked for the driver like youpi said, but I couldn't find anything, and I don't even know what a driver is.

      Hi... I had the same issue! Just open the device manager and search for new devices if the scanner doesn't appear in the list. Then, install the drivers from the CD provided in a simple way, restart the printer, and that's it!

    I bought an OLIVETTI SIMPLE WAY bluetooth yesterday

    The USB cable not being included, I also bought a 1.8 m one that the seller recommended.

    After installation, the printer copier works except the scanner,

    I went back the next day to the seller, he tried to brush me off, raising his voice in front of the customers, he tried for 2 hours and got fed up and gave me another brand new one.

    All happy at home, I tried again and the same problem, printer copier and bluetooth work okay except scan,

    I randomly tried the old cable from my old scan artec ultima 2000 bought on May 21, 2000 and miracle everything is okay

    Olivetti should include the USB cable with their equipment if they don't want to lose customers, as for me I won't buy without a cable again.
