DVD RW AD-5540A ATA Optiarc driver problem

Solved

Hello,
I have an optical drive from the brand Optiarc model: DVD RW AD-5540A ATA
Unfortunately, after each attempt to install games using a CD or any other software on a CD medium, after the restart, my drive no longer recognizes any format. Where can I find the corresponding drivers for this brand??

My laptop (Packard Bell) runs on Vista, and the PC is an Easynote SJ-81. Thank you in advance!!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

      Hello Marion

If your CD/DVD drive is no longer reading, doesn't show up in Computer, and appears in Device Manager with a yellow triangle and an error code (10, 19, 31, 32, 37, 39, or 41), start by deleting the upperfilters and lowerfilters. You can delete them automatically on restarting your PC like this:

Save this file to your desktop: http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/DisparitionCD.inf, then go back to the desktop, right-click on the file, and in the list that appears, select "Install," and restart your PC as instructed.

This avoids registry manipulations and works even for Vista.

Hello, my drive is not original because it wasn't working at first (it was a PX engine something)
My computer is a Packard Bell MX 65-110 Windows XP SP2

My problem is that when I put a DVD (created with a finalized standalone recorder),
    it shows me "DVD_VR (D://)".

I double click on it, it tells me that "D://" is not a valid Win32 application.

And with Nero 6.6 (to copy standalone DVDs, it's the most useful), I also have an external DVD RW burner.

I put the original CD in the D:// drive,

I put the blank DVD in the F:// drive,

10-15 seconds later, Nero tells me that the burn has failed.

    So, I believe it's a driver issue.

In any case, it's very embarrassing...

    Thank you

    A++

I have an EASYNOTE MX36-U-049W, I'm looking for a driver for the Optiarc DVDRW AD-5540A ATA DEVICE for Vista... (it's not my PC ;-°)

I checked the Packard Bell website, not much available except this...
    http://support.packardbell.com/fr/item/index.php?pn=PB90EW0202&t=2009

    The Optiarc site is empty...
    http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/en/exhibits/slim-line-drives/ad-5540a.html
    http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/...
    http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/en/support-service/downloads/updateprocedure.html

    We can also find this:

    "
    Dear customer,

OUR FIRMWARE UPDATES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THOSE PROVIDED BY THE OEM VENDORS (HP, DELL, FUJITSU-SIEMENS ETC.).

THESE VERSIONS MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR DRIVE.
    "

    And this:

"In case of difficulties, please flash the drive in PIO mode" (I will try to tinker with that...)

    No drivers on www.touslesdrivers.com

    No generic drivers

    Does anyone have something?

I have the same problem, I looked everywhere to see how I could fix this error! But nothing works, I didn't find anything...

I checked in case it wasn't up to date, but no, it is indeed up to date and then I get this message:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. This driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click 'Find Solutions' to send information about this device to Microsoft and check for a solution available."

Thank you in advance for your help!
    Best regards, Pedro

      Hello Pedro

If your CD/DVD drive is not reading anymore, does not appear in My Computer, and shows a yellow triangle in Device Manager with an error code (10, 19, 31, 32, 37, 39, or 41), start by deleting the upperfilters and lowerfilters. Thank you for your repair plan, I had exactly the same problem with my burner as several Packard buyers and, as if by miracle, your little program allowed it to be recognized. Even on the manufacturers' or resellers' sites, they can't give you the slightest information about the issue.
      I sincerely thank you.

      Hi Jerome,

The problem is a conflict in the registry that often occurs following the installation or uninstallation of reading or burning software, or hardware like a webcam, for example.

    Hello,

According to what I've read on the subject, the best solution is to repair/restore your OS; Windows should reinstall the driver correctly.

    Hello everyone,

I also have a problem with the OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5540 A.

When I try to burn on Memorex DVD+RW, it tells me that there is no DVD.

When I burn, it also happens that it does not recognize the DVDs and automatically switches to CD mode.

    Can someone help me?

    What should I do?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem reading DVDs but I don't know if it's the player or the computer. It's locked to region 3 and therefore I can only play DVDs from region 3 (very limited choice, even impossible in Europe). I would like to know how to bypass this security.

What should I do? Thank you for your help.

    Optiarc ET Packard Bell

    IT'S CRAP!

because I spent 4 hours searching their manufacturer sites, Google, etc... TouslesDrivers.com ,,

    But nothing!!!

The driver for the Optiarc AD-5540 CD/DVD RW Windows does not exist...

Normally, all manufacturers are required to have drivers for all their products,

Optiarc doesn't even appear in the hardware manufacturer lists!!

    Really ridiculous.

    Hi Mickael,

I looked at the sites you sent,

    Here's the Nero Infotool:

    DVD +/- R / RW DL Recorder

    Firmware Version: 2.61

    Buffer Size: 2 MB

    Date: ?

    CSS: Enabled, CPRM Enabled

    And the site http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/Optiarc-AD-5540A/

I didn't understand anything about what to do.

    Thanks to you
