Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to you after searching for answers in the forum.

For several months, my PC rarely boots directly.
I often end up on a page offering me, at the bottom "press tab to switch to post or del to run bios setup".

In order:
- My computer is quite slow
- I regularly use "cclean" and "defrag"
- I haven't installed any new hardware
- Pressing F8 several times at startup usually gets me to the desktop
- Pressing F8 no longer takes me to "safe mode"
- Pressing tab or del doesn't seem to change anything (or maybe I'm doing it wrong??)

I don't know if this will help you assist me, but here are my "boot options":

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

---------------

Thank you in advance for your help, have a nice Sunday :-)

Configuration: Windows XP Home Edition / Internet Explorer 8

    Hi!

    Pressing TAB does not allow you to resume a normal startup?

    Try the "delete" key to access the BIOS.
    Indeed, the problem is troubling, especially the fact that you cannot access "safe mode" whenever you want (try using the F5 key).
    I think a restoration/reinstallation of Windows would give your PC a boost...
