I didn't stop there, we went back to bring the console to the Toys R Us store and it worked very well there. They told us to use the power adapter instead of batteries. Do you use the SCART adapter? If so, you'll need to place it in the same spot as your DIVX or DVD player (to ensure that the port works).
Then you put the game in the console, turn it on, and the image should be fine.

If you go directly through the red, white, and yellow cables to your TV, check which auxiliary it corresponds to: AV1, AV2... Personally, on my plasma, I'm on AV4.

I still recommend, at first, if you're not managing your TV, to use the SCART.

So you might not need to switch to AV mode but perhaps to an auxiliary mode or even 0.

* without a game in the console => you have the V-Tech image followed by an orange thing with sound presence
