how to switch from lowID to highID on emule

Question

Hello, I wanted to know if someone would be able to help me change lowID to highID with eMule, because I tried several things like configuring my firewall... but nothing works, eMule remains slow and sometimes even inactive. I've been to several sites to try to understand and I keep coming back to solutions that I've already tried. I'm on Windows Vista and I'm using eMule v0.48a. Thank you in advance for your help

hi lolo unfortunately I have a livebox so alice doesn't know when I want to set up my livebox I type 192.168.1.1 in the main address bar and the password is admin admin  then ok  you could try something like 192.168.1.1 OR EQUIVALENT from alice  lolo

Hey lolo 192.168.1.1 THIS IS THE PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE LIVE BOX at Alice it should be different  in your manual, don’t you have a number like that in the instructions I checked my livebox config and this address 192.168.....is the LAN server address it’s the general IP address for liveboxes but Alice doesn’t know it will sort itself out just in case, after you've calmed down, give your support a quick call if they don’t answer, try 3900, it’s France Telecom’s number which serves everyone they might be able to help you  lolo

Well, I went to the last site you provided, I re-did everything once again, but I'm still on low ID. Now I have a fixed IP, I configured Alice, I disabled the Windows firewall (I have another antivirus), apparently I've tried everything. I did it, I hadn't properly configured my ports in preferences > connections in eMule, I hadn't set the same ports as I had configured in my Alice box. In any case, thanks to both of you because it's thanks to your links that I was able to succeed. Normally, if you followed the instructions in the links that were provided to you, you should have a high ID. In Emule, when it's open, go to tools to indicate your connection speed, and it will ask you if you want UPnP; you should say yes. If you have entered a static IP for your PC plus the UPnP acceptance that you need to repeat in the connection settings, request UPnP by checking the indicated box. Then perform a port test, still in tools and settings. By running the test, a webpage will open. If you have a red cross for the test, it means the settings are not correct.

First of all, you’re messing around with completely unnecessary security software. Install Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or 2007 and remove the rest because it’s all just "crap." Then on the emule site, you have everything you need to configure your PC with your router
. Ideally, you should have a fixed IP address in addition to what I just mentioned.
The main thing is to remove Zone Alarm because it’s a super annoying software. AVG isn't much better. Just install Kaspersky Internet Security, which does all the work much better. Plus a fixed IP address as the emule site advises for your Alice box. You have too much protection to start with, which is completely unnecessary and useless. After that, I can explain the procedure, but emule explains everything. I saw that someone gave you a link that you need to follow to configure your router (Alice box). Do what I say and follow the advice of other users who also know how to use Emule. I’m an IT engineer, but in Switzerland, and I know these routers, of course, but not well enough to give you precise instructions. But emule gives you all the necessary info. Personally, I don’t use emule, but it’s a good peer-to-peer.
