Hello,
I have Anno 1701 and when I want to install it, it automatically launches but as soon as I click on install, a black window quickly appears and disappears without launching my installation. So I'm asking for your help please and thank you in advance.

Maybe my experience can help more than one: be careful, I did it for an English version but the procedure will certainly be the same for any other version.
I made a copy of the Anno 1701 DVD as an ISO image (or directly worked from an ISO image downloaded from the internet), then I burned it onto a DVD.
I tried to play with this copy and....-->please insert the original CD/DVD and restart the game!
Launching DRVsetup from the copied DVD, which is located in the SUPPORT directory, did not solve the protection issue. Downloading drivers from the internet to bypass the protection or evade the original CD/DVD problem also did not work.
I downloaded a NOCD/DVD to see if it was possible to play without the original DVD: it doesn't work, at least not on Vista.
So I continued my research and found this solution:
Replace the "Anno 1701 application" file located on your PC: C:program files->Anno 1701--> Anno 1701.exe
with the one contained in the compressed file: rzr.1701.rar (it is multilingual. Creation date of the EXE file contained in the compressed file: 11/8/2006, size 12MB, you can easily find it on the net, replace only the EXE file).
After that, when launching the game, a serial number is requested, which consists of 8 groups of 5 characters (uppercase letters and numbers). And voila, the game works.
Note that the information provided is intended for private backup copying of your Anno 1701 game DVD. If you illegally download an ISO image of this game, you are solely responsible.
Regarding the last post about a version that does not work on Vista; please check the compatibility of your graphics card. In the 'read me' or 'installation instructions' file, you will find the graphics cards that may not be compatible.

Hello, can someone help me? I recently got Anno 1701, but when I click on install, a little black window pops up and disappears in a split second, and then nothing happens. Can someone help me? I really want to play, thanks in advance for your responses ^^
