Hello everyone,
Here’s my problem: I caught a virus on my USB drive which, of course, spread to my PC. I use Avast, which normally works very well, but no matter how much I quarantine or delete the virus, it always comes back on all my hard drives. Avast tells me the following: File name: Autorun.inf, Malware name: INF:Autorun-Cb [Trj] and it’s a Trojan.
The virus doesn’t seem very harmful but it’s really annoying because it pops up every 20 seconds on my two hard drives, and so far I haven’t noticed any particular damage. But I am currently in Mexico and it’s quite difficult to find someone to help me.
I’ve already tried a few things with programs like Spybot, C-Cleaner, Revo-uninstaller, but nothing works. I think I probably need to delete a file, so I’ve used Hijack This, but the report it gives me looks like Japanese to me... So if someone who knows a bit more could lend me a hand, I can send the Hijack report if necessary.
Thank you in advance!!

Yes gen-hackman, there is a small utility that deletes autorun.inf every time it sees one:
https://www.118712.fr/sortir.html
As soon as I plug in a USB stick or an external hard drive that has previously been connected to another computer other than mine, I start this program and click on the "start" button, then I can plug in the stick; if there is an autorun.inf, the program renames it as soon as it sees it. Since I started using this program, I haven't had any problems with autorun.inf viruses anymore!

You can't delete autorun.inf, because by default this program can't contain viruses. Basically, it's a basic program that helps support most files. We are really talking about a virus that exploits autorun.inf, and honestly, YouTube can be quite helpful in these cases. Otherwise, you could ... contact a specialist? Anyway, good luck.
