Change the default folder view

Hello,
Windows XP shows folders in tiles every time I navigate to "My Computer." Does anyone know how to change the default folder view?
I thought I found the solution by going to "Tools," "Folder Options," and checking "Remember each folder's view settings," but it does not remember the last view I applied.
If anyone has a solution, I would be grateful because it's frustrating to constantly change the view (indeed, I am a staunch supporter of detail view).
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Default folder view mode
The default view mode is defined by folder types automatically determined based on the files it contains.
    View modes:
    • Large icons
    • Medium icons
    • Small icons
    • List
    • Details
    • Tiles
    Folder types:
    • All items
    • Documents
    • Images and videos
    • Music details
    • Music file icons
To change the default view mode of a folder type
    • open a folder
    • see what its type is (Organize / Properties, Customize tab, Use this type of folder as a template)
    • apply the desired view mode (View)
    • make this view automatic for all folders of this type (Organize / Folder and search options, View tab, Apply to folders button)

To change the folder type of a folder and all its subfolders
    • open the folder
    • change the type (Organize / Properties, Customize tab, Use this type of folder as a template: choose a type from the dropdown list, check Apply this template to all subfolders as well, then OK)

      Hello

I'm struggling to customize my folders.
The provided explanation is not clear enough.

I want all my folders to be organized in one way:
      Small icons
      Details
and the date before the type.
I have to do this folder by folder.
Before, I had a way to do it just once and it would apply
to all the subfolders, but I can't find it anymore.

Can we set the folder types in Folder Options?

      Thank you for your response

I'm at the same point in organizing my music...
Vista is really getting on my nerves, as they say...
If you've made progress, I'm open to a comprehensive method, because after my music, there are my photos, and that's the same thing but worse.
