Hello,
I have AutoCAD 2004 and I can't open an automatic backup file *.sv$. When I rename it to *.dwg, it still doesn't work.
Do you have a solution?

Good evening,
Uh.... It's simpler, you just need to configure your files to read the extension.
To do this:
Open the computer, then in the "Tools" tab, go to "Folder options", once the window is open, in the "View" tab, uncheck the box "Hide extensions for known file types".
Then click OK. :)
So later, if you need to rename a .bak or .sv$, you will be able to modify the hidden extension by renaming it. ;)

Hello,
I had the same issue too, but I found...
Actually, when I renamed it, the .dwg was added at the end of the file name but it remained a .sv$ file.
So I compressed it with WinRAR.
Inside the compressed file, I renamed it (Right-click on the file and rename) by replacing .sv$ with .dwg and then it worked.
Just extract the file and open it with AutoCAD.
Good luck... -
