Enable Windows Security Center Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,I have the Windows Security Center disabled and cannot turn it on! Error message: unable to start the Security Center service; and no solution is proposed. I did an update and still nothing! In fact, it hasn't worked since my Norton trial version expired. I uninstalled it and got a new version that is not fully active because I think the inactive Security Center is blocking everything. Anyway, I'm struggling! Help!Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.8

too easy for the security center, just go to control panel, administrative tools, click on services, go to security center and set the startup type to automatic and then start. and there you go!!!!

yes, but that's exactly it, your security center doesn't activate because your antivirus is not good.

Thank you anyway, I think I'm going to back up everything I've added since I got my PC (2 months ago) and I'm going to do a restore with my backup DVDs...

Hey! That's what I thought right away...
But to do that, you could have made it even simpler...
In the Run menu from the Start menu, you should have typed msconfig ==> services and checked "Security Center"
You can "manage" a lot of things from that function!
The main thing is that it worked!! I was just posting for info...

I also have the same problem (the security center won't activate).
Actually, I downloaded an infected .exe file three days ago, and I can't delete it with Avast when it's detected. Avast forced a scan upon rebooting the PC, and it found 5 infected files that were all in the Windows directory... oh no, I can feel the trouble coming,,, I deleted them!!!
How can I fix this and reactivate the security center, which was always activated until I executed this file!
