The following procedure works:
1. Close all other applications
2. Go to Windows Task Manager > Processes
3. Look for PSIService.exe*.
4. Select PSIService.exe & click on the End Process button. Click Yes to confirm.
5. Try installing the program again.
*If you do not see PSIService.exe, check the box "Show processes from all users" & search again.

Hello,
I would like to know if Paint Shop Pro X2 includes the Animation Shop v3.11 module.
Thank you.

Hello, I have encountered huge difficulties downloading Paint Shop Photo X2, and despite Corel's hotline sending me two different procedures to succeed, I couldn't install it. The technician explained that there have been quite a few recent issues, and it's true that the procedures were all ready to be sent!!
Has anyone else experienced this kind of installation difficulty?
Thank you.

I also have a problem with Paint Shop Pro X2. When I start the computer, there is a Corel download window with another saying that the download cannot be performed at this time and that it can be resumed by clicking the link. This link gives a "null" result. My software is legally purchased from Corel. I excluded Corel from Internet Download Manager and disabled the download by Internet Explorer, but it doesn't change anything. Even if I install the update to X2.02, the problem persists, and I don't see where the path you mentioned is.
The program installs without difficulty on my laptop running XP. The installation gets stuck on my HP a6180.fr desktop under Vista, at the end, when it displays:
Failed to start the ProtexisLicensing service (ProtexisLicensing). Check that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I am installing the program from the retail version as an administrator.
Vista system 3 GB of RAM at least 400 GB free, Nvidia 8500 gt

Good evening,
I experienced this problem and many others... with X2. Corel asked me to do a lot of pointless things... that I did not do.
I was also told that the software was pirated (a purchased original!)
And then messages like yours + the one from Windows. I struggled for 2 months. Neither Corel nor the forums provided any answers.
So I searched and found after several installations that certain software caused incompatibilities with Corel X2.
If your software is "clean" and your computer is "healthy," check the little programs that we install and use so little!
QuickTime is one of those! "Since I silenced it," Corel X2 works perfectly. I am registered, the opening is quick and it’s the TOP, TOP shared with Photoshop Elements 6.
I have both. Impeccable, and they get along well with Corel X and XI!! Now that X2 works, I will remove version XI but keep version 10, practical and smooth and... open from morning to night for everyday tasks.
If this can help you, know that this is not the first time with Corel or Adobe that such problems arise. These big companies unfortunately have no solutions or technicians.
Good luck and don’t think about Vista, the graphics card, or that thing, or even the other thing.
Your computer worked before, it will continue with...

I installed the Paint Shop Pro X2 demo on my laptop with updated XP SP2. It works fine.
I did the same on my desktop with Vista Premium. I have indeed disabled PSIService.exe, I removed the Protexis keys from the registry file. Nothing works; it is impossible to run PSP because as soon as I open it, the message "0 days remaining" appears.
I have made several installation-uninstallation attempts, removing the Corel directories each time. Nothing works.
In addition, I have disabled the ProtexingLicensing service, but it reappears with each product installation, as well as with each reboot.
This service does not exist under XP.

I believe that Paint Shop Pro X2 is the best software for photos (semi-professional).
- very intuitive
- easy to use (follow the learning function and the manual provided "quite simple in my opinion")
- Of course, there is Photoshop Cs and the suite that is on the more powerful market, but aimed at professionals given the exorbitant price required.
- In a different genre, Corel PhotoPaint is excellent and slightly more expensive and difficult to learn, but it delivers results that can stand alongside Photoshop (and Paint Shop Pro X2 as well).
For the vast majority, of which I am a part, I would say that Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 is more than sufficient and offers good value for money.
See you soon.

It is indeed an excellent software... but with a mediocre after-sales service.
I have been using this software since version 8.1 with updates up to X2.
I just had to format my hard drive... I have the backup. I am unable to reinstall it (with Windows Vista). Their service has been dragging me for over a month without being able to give me any information.
Who has the answer?

Hello, I am trying Paint Shop Pro XI on my second PC, which has Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit, and I don’t know why it’s the only Corel software that is lagging on it.
But I'm just waiting for a solution, because I have Paint Shop Pro X on the other PC, on Windows XP, and it is AWESOME.
I will never give up this software.
When I got my first PC, I started with it because I couldn't find what I wanted on other free software (there are very good ones though)
I haven't found any equivalent software in terms of cleanliness, sharpness, beauty of the result, and INFINITE customization possibilities. (easy customization, if you create a texture bank, and also you can save an infinite number of personal settings)
Even the Corel DRAW graphic suite, which is beautiful, does not have as many nuances in the settings and is a very professional complement.
There you go, if this can help you choose and persevere ^^

Hello,
I downloaded Paint Shop Pro X2 as a trial version to see how it works with my photos. Everything is fine until I print my photo; it comes out very dark. I tried changing the color space from the default sRGB color space profile to the CMYK profile which is European Print Medium GCR 320 UCR, but there was no improvement. My printer is the Epson Photo R300, which I am completely satisfied with. Have you encountered this problem? Thank you.

Hello, my system is Windows XP with 2x512MB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. The PSPX2 hasn't caused me any issues; it's been working perfectly for a month. The photo retouching lab is great. I had to convert photos taken in "daylight" indoors to artificial light without flash.
Very good results, quick processing, and automatic saving in all cases. My old program, Adobe EL 2, was too expensive to purchase; CS2 is better. Good work to everyone.

I have a little silly problem with Paint Shop Pro X2. I can't make an oval selection. It only offers me circles, squares, etc.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I'm starting with PSP Photo X2 and I can't find the "Move to another folder" command
that we had in PSP X by right-clicking on a photo or on a selection of several in the
"timeline" (image viewer of a folder).
If someone could give me a hint...
Thanks

Good evening, when you say "as an administrator," do you mean that you have activated the hidden administrator of Vista?
Because otherwise, when you create a normal account, even called "administrator," it's just a facade, Vista considers you a regular user.
It's a big hassle for users who tinker but haven't dared to buy the so-called "pro" version yet.
The message you receive indicates this, because otherwise Vista wouldn't refuse you anything.
Activate the hidden administrator in Vista here: (I used it and it works well, thanks to the pros on this site ^^)
