Hello,
As stated, my PC has been completely freezing for about a week.
The problems are as follows:
Impossible to shut down, restart, or sign out of the session; the PC shows "shutting down (or restarting) in progress" indefinitely.
When forcing a shutdown with the physical button, on reboot it tells me that updates are in progress, then it starts normally, and that happens every time from the start.
Once the PC is on, the problems gradually appear: Windows settings, Windows Update, File Explorer, Task Manager, Command Prompt, the Windows bar (Start button, "Search" bar, the sound/Bluetooth/brightness tab, etc.), all of that ends up not working; sometimes Windows itself throws an error and I only have the option to force reboot.
I also have updates pending that download but do not install, with the error code x800705 (sorry, I’m going by memory because it doesn’t show me the code anymore, the download remains blocked).
What I’ve tried:
DISM / SFC Scannow command
Uninstall the latest updates
Reset the PC (via Settings and WinRE)
Repair Windows Update
And I’m probably forgetting things, I’m tearing my hair out over this for a week
In any case, none of this works; I either get errors or Windows tells me it cannot repair.
It’s a MSI GL75 9SE with Windows 11 Home, 25H2, 64-bit, about 4 years old
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB)
I'm not IT-savvy, sorry in advance for the approximate terms; the PC remains usable, Internet, games, etc., even once everything blocks and I no longer have access to everything mentioned above; Bluetooth continues to work normally, for example.
Thank you in advance, I remain obviously at your disposal!
