Corel Draw: unable to Save As, Export,

Hello,

From some time now, when I create a new file in Corel Draw, the functions "Save", "Save As", "Export", and others... have no effect.

To work around the problem, I have to duplicate and rename an existing file, delete its contents and put my modifications. There, "Save" works! (but still not "Save As", "Export", ...)

Have you ever encountered this problem?
Would you have a solution?

Thank you in advance

Richard

I think I remember it happened to me with an evaluation version at the end of the trial period..
If you have the latest version on rental, try to reactivate your rights...

Thank you for your response, but this is the full Corel Draw Graphics Suite 2017, purchased by my company. So not a trial version.

However, it seems that this version was bought about 2 years ago! Maybe there is a limited usage period of 2 years ???

No, there is no usage limit except if it is a rented version of course...!
However, please check that you have the latest update (and that you are not doing double or triple installations!)

Hello,

Same here, I'm on CorelDRAW 12, I just upgraded to Windows 11, it's a mess. I had to modify CorelDRAW/accounting and set Windows 8 otherwise it’s the blue screen.

So, now, no more blue screen but 20% of my Corel files open and then close immediately.

I'm not even sure that with the update, my folders from long ago will open.

I sent my file to Corel but I just realized they don't want to open it to test.

So I won't pay for something that doesn't work.

And to top it all off, when I export a Corel file, I do: export and everything closes and I can't then import it into RDWorks for my laser engraving.

Corel 12 is so easy to use that I downloaded Inkscape, help, !!!!!

Has anyone else had the same problem and maybe a solution.

Val

Hello

Regarding updates, take the time to do all of them for the brand-new Windows 11; you can do them in several parts (days).

It’s common for Windows 11 to fail to run some slightly older programs (even those that ran on Windows 10). Its main specialty is to uninstall completely (RevoUninstaller), to reinstall an application downloaded again from the store.

Remember to perform this complete uninstall before reinstalling, even in compatibility mode for the same program.

But they still installed the latest update of their Corel 2017 version in this 2020 discussion!

They offer it for rent and online for beginners, they say, the 2026 version.

A free trial but perhaps limited (if you can't back up or save, it's not good).

Did you find it at the museum? this program apparently dates from 2004.

Hello,

Windows 11 updates have nothing to do with it, and the compatibility mode (not Windows 8 but XP, by the way) like the most beautiful girl in the world, can only give what it has; it is not a guarantee of operation.

We will spin the question in every direction that when it fails, and if we insist on such an obsolete software, there is no other solution than to install it on Windows 11 in a VirtualBox or VMWare Workstation virtual machine, provided of course that you can reactivate the license there.

The dinosaur was planned for 2000 and XP, so it is an XP virtual machine that must be installed.
