Limit of simultaneous connections via 5G SIM

Hello,

As part of my tutoring association, I am looking to deploy a 5G Box capable of receiving simultaneous connections for up to 10 students maximum, with a relatively low required bandwidth (a few Internet searches, accessing Pronote, etc.). Traditional operators offer turnkey 5G boxes, but I think that is excessive for our use, which is limited to once a week. I was thinking of buying a 5G router and inserting a standard mobile SIM card.

My question is: do traditional SIMs or 5G routers impose a limit on simultaneous connections? Is this kind of setup capable of handling up to 10 connections at the same time, even if the required bandwidth is low?

    What we should talk about is more likely Wi‑Fi, right? As well as the network quality in the area—is 5G really effective in your area? It works in the same way as a smartphone can also be used for this purpose.

    Next, configure the router, in particular the DNS for parental control with blocks on adult sites, ads, virulent content, etc... That is the real role of using a router rather than a phone to impose rules on the network.

    Afterwards, remember that devices can use a lot of data for updates, or for watching educational video content.

    Thank you for this response.

    5G is indeed effective in my sector. What worries me more is the fact that a 5G mobile SIM card inserted into a 5G router can be "flagged" by operators. Is that allowed? After this post, on another forum, I was told that Free had already cut the subscription of a user for the same reason.

    Why would it be flagged? Operators themselves have been offering 4G/5G boxes for a long time, the only issue with that, still, is the limited configuration options you might need to ensure stability and security.

    I would ideally not want a turnkey 4G/5G box provided by the operators, but rather to buy an independent 5G router and insert a standard 5G mobile SIM into it.

    No worries, many operators allow setting up a "Box 5G", but if you prefer to buy the Router + the SIM on your side, that's fine; if you have a data limit, just be careful! because sometimes they automatically charge for extra usage

    The "Box 5G" provided by internet operators are often unlimited
