Square around certain desktop icons (w.7)

Question

Hello,
I've been using Windows 7, and for the past few days, a very light frame has appeared around some of my icons! I can't find a way to remove it. (Image: https://www.casimages.com/i/1001270720322492.png.html )
I removed the icon (for example, the PhotoShop one) and then put it back, but that frame keeps coming back! :(
If you have any tips or something... I'm all ears!

Hi,  When you're on the desktop, hold down ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel to slightly zoom out, the icons will shrink in size but the box will disappear.   god

no, it wasn't on purpose because it appeared a few days ago, and yes, I forgot to mention that the day those squares appeared (when I turned on my PC) the icons were all messed up!!! :/

Did you buy it new?? It should normally be all neatly organized, otherwise you can complain to Microsoft!

I don't see the connection, yes I bought it new, but it was "neatly organized", but I said that it appeared overnight! -___-'

Hi Iimax3

try changing the resolution (minimum) for example: 800 x 600, 16 bit and save the changes.
then put the resolution back to normal and see what happens.

it worked for Vista, it should work for Seven....... well if the problem comes from that.

I just tried it right now without success... :/ Even when I'm on the lowest possible definition, the squares are still present around my icons... And when I switch back to "normal," nothing has changed... :(

Yes, I have that too; Windows 7 puts boxes around small icons, so the solution is to enlarge them. The boxes should disappear if the software includes large icons, which is not the case for all software.

The fact that enlarging the icons does not remove the frame. But I noticed that the problem only affected shortcuts with small-sized icons...
