I bought a JBL Xtreme 5 but I didn’t notice that there was no 3.5mm jack, only a USB-C port on it. I’d like to use it with my FLX4 turntable. How could I connect my turntable to the JBL, and I’d also like to be able to plug in the JBL charger to enjoy 130W on mains and not be stuck with the 90W from the battery. Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello,

    USB audio adapter (cleanest solution)

    The idea:

You use a USB-C to jack adapter (DAC / external sound card)
    You connect:
FLX4 → RCA to jack → USB adapter
    Adapter → JBL via USB-C

    BUT:

You need a USB input audio compatible adapter (USB sound card mode)
Not all dongles work with a speaker ????

In practice, it only works with certain models (and it is not guaranteed with JBL).

Going through a computer (recommended solution)

    It’s the most reliable solution:

You connect your FLX4 via USB to your PC
You connect the JBL Xtreme 5 via USB-C to the PC
You select the JBL as the audio output in Rekordbox / Serato

    Advantages:

    Audio quality OK
    No exotic adapters
    Works for sure

    And for the 130W power?

You can charge the JBL while using it in USB audio:

The USB-C port is used for both:
    power supply
    digital audio

    So:

JBL charger plugged in → max power (130W)
USB audio from PC → OK at the same time
