Japanese tip to quickly cool down an overheated car without AC

In the middle of summer, a car exposed to the sun can reach interior temperatures of more than 50 °C. Many drivers immediately blast the air conditioning to cope with this problem, but this practice is ineffective and energy-intensive. By contrast, a well-known trick can quickly reduce the cabin temperature by 10 °C. Simply lower the passenger-side window while rapidly opening and closing the driver's door five times in succession, thereby creating an airflow that expels the heat. This simple method avoids unnecessary wear on the A/C and keeps the vehicle somewhat cool. Do you think this also works for other vehicles, in your opinion, friends?

    Whoa, impressive—the trick is Japanese, because we Europeans are too c... to do it.

    By the way, no one has noticed with the heat waves right now that opening a door energetically creates a draft. No, no, no, we are fools who crack the door a bit to jump in, say “Oh wow, it’s hot in there,” and quickly close the AC completely.

    Otherwise you try as hard as possible to park in the shade (= one article full of ads on CCM), and then leave the doors and trunk open for a few minutes (= a second article full of ads on CCM) ;-)

      We park wherever we can, not necessarily always in the shade. Apart from a number of approximations on form (for example pallier is transitive), the substance is hardly any better. We no longer get burned by the steering wheels since they are no longer bare bakelite, and the idea of not turning on the air conditioning to avoid wearing it out is surprising (a client told me he did the same with the turn signals). Everyday people are content to open the windows and turn on the air conditioning as soon as they get in the vehicle, then keep the windows open as long as the engine is hot and the air conditioning isn’t effective yet; it’s all the more quick when you’re about to drive for a while than on very hot days when the engine overheats quickly. All of it is quite symbolic and very inefficient when, like recently, it can be more than 35°C in the shade and thus much hotter in the sun, for example when you make quick trips to run errands, where the car will be stopped and reheated each time.
