Crashing PC...

Hello,

From time to time, I have a problem with my PC running W11.

When I click to open a page, a new window opens next to it but doesn't provide access to the page.

If I try again, another window opens, and so on.

No action is possible anymore, and the already open windows become unresponsive.

On another note, sometimes a banner appears at the top of the screen by itself without any action from me to activate voice control.

And sometimes the settings page appears on its own...

Something is not right...

Thanks for your cleaning suggestions.

    Hello,

For a total reinstallation of Windows 11

Use the link to download the Windows ISO file to create a USB drive (8 to 16GB minimum) to update, repair, or install Windows

    https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows11

Once you have the Windows ISO file, you can create a bootable USB drive using Rufus or Ventoy

    https://rufus.ie/fr/

    https://www.ventoy.net/en/download.html

    In GPT mode for EFI

Boot from it using the PC's Boot Menu key

You can search on Google "[Brand Model] Boot Menu Key"

Click (if offered): Previous version of the configuration

    Choose "Custom installation" (not upgrade)

No need to format if there is space, if there are data, they will be found in a Windows.old folder (which will automatically be deleted after 10 days)

Install on the same partition, or alternatively, delete all system partitions and create a new one (deletes data).

    Thank you for your response

If one of the installed software is infected, will a complete reinstallation of W11 solve the problem?

If you think that disinfecting would solve the problem, see here to try

    https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-38206831-alors-vous-voulez-supprimer-les-virus-vous-meme-comment

If not, reinstalling from scratch should restore everything, in principle, if the MBR hasn't been affected, but MBR rootkits have been out of circulation for a long time, it seems to me.

    You're welcome.

No, in the end I preferred the simpler method

I downloaded the ISO file, right-clicked to mount it as a virtual drive, and finally clicked on setup.exe

And the computer handled everything without my intervention!

We'll see if my issues are resolved?

    Thank you for your help

    Sincerely

It depends on what the PC is assigned to.

      Have a good evening.
