Hello

Since upgrading to version 7 of CCleaner, after running an initial health check, the application freezes and I'm unable to run a second health check.

> message "CCleaner is still busy with something else, please wait for it to finish before using the health check." After an hour of waiting, nothing!

For your info, stopping CCleaner via Task Manager doesn't resolve the issue.

No problem with running the custom cleanup.

I'm on Windows 10 22H2.

    Hello,

Version 6.39 may still be available, I just downloaded it.

Despite them announcing version 7, version 6.39 Portable is here.

    https://www.ccleaner.com/fr-fr/ccleaner/builds

If we choose the Slim version (Installer), we indeed get version 7.

Otherwise, CCleaner, the more it evolves, the more it loses its simplicity.

Hello and thank you for your reply

Anyway, I'm giving up CCleaner; this latest version is really too intrusive

    I'm switching to BleachBit

    Hello

The version 7 is bugging; you need to deal directly with support.

    Hello,
I am using the paid version of CCleaner 7 and I noticed the same issue. I asked an AI about it yesterday.
The response was that it is indeed a bug that is being fixed.
It should be resolved in a matter of days.

You were taken in by CCleaner AKA Avast and company.

Ask for a refund maybe, you didn’t pay for a product as it is now if you paid for a lifetime license, right?

If they have enough (too many) complaints, they will fix what they just broke, or close their doors...

Ok, I am on the paid version 7, 14.28 euros, which will cover the many years during which CCleaner worked properly and for free...
I uninstalled version 7 and installed a free version 6, but the worst part is that in the last few days I've noticed various issues with Firefox, which was working perfectly until then. Among other things, the deleting and managing of the history, there are a few addresses that seem unremovable...

        At the address C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla

You might be able to find and export an older version of the Firefox profile

And restore it, if you have old enough restore points that contain it (I often back up my profile)

Download Shadow Explorer 0.9 Portable here:

        https://www.shadowexplorer.com/downloads.html

Extract the entire folder somewhere, and run ShadowExplorerPortable.exe

        Select your drive C:\

Choose a date when the files were there.

Navigate to Users > Your name > AppData > Roaming > Mozilla

Right-click on the folder and click on Export

Well done, now we can no longer post on this forum by copy/pasting... "Message too short!!!"

Thank you for your suggestions that I have noted. For now, I have gathered the essentials and prefer not to take too many risks...
    Best regards.

      Continuation:
My computer is equipped with Windows 11. I just reinstalled Firefox after a crash. Everything seems to be working normally, but for my mailboxes, the password does not disappear upon closing; it remains permanently saved. There must be an option regarding this in Firefox, but I can't find it... Thanks in advance.

        Hello,

In Privacy and Security > "Passwords", and "Autofill".

And if you want to delete ALL cookies, Wise Disk Cleaner does it (You need to create your ignore list if you want to stay logged in to a site.

Alright, thank you very much, I just tried it, it works.
I should add that in version 6 of CCleaner that I installed, I unchecked the update options, so that CCleaner doesn't automatically install its version 7...
