W10, wait or force your ESU updates
Yrbu -
Hello, everyone knows that Windows 10 is ending tomorrow, but we can extend updates by one year with ESU. In settings, then update and security, but I don't have the "register now" option. Should I wait or force the ESU updates? If you have managed to extend the updates by one year, I'm interested, thank you.

Hello,
Check this out (and also make sure to at least read the recent threads before posting your own):

Hello,
With the ESU updates, it's better to step back to network better in a year, the best would be to switch to Windows 11.

Hello,
Note: Windows 11 Media Creation Tool
Method 5: obsolete
Microsoft has broken its own Windows 11 Media Creation Tool just as millions of users are facing a deadline to abandon Windows 10 - and with less than 24 hours until the official end of support. The classic method is to use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to easily create a Windows 11 installation media. Well, that was before September 29, 2025. Microsoft has broken its own Media Creation Tool
I also think very badly of ESU because there's no point in postponing something announced long ago for a year, and when the problem arises again in a year, if one wants to keep Windows 10, one will have to find third-party solutions even if they aren't formally 100% airtight (what is?) through another security software (and of course, a healthy behavior).
But I replied with a link in <1>.
Too complicated for me, I know that companies are entitled to a key to force Windows 11 on their computers, it's risky, thank you anyway.
You're welcome.
You can still use Windows 10; I check in here every day on a 2008 backup tower that runs Windows 8.1 Pro, and I don't have any issues with malware or any other types of infections (the spectrum is wide in this area…).
It's all about how you use it; you think and then click, while most users do the opposite.
The ideal way to be worry-free in case of any issues (aside from hardware problems...) is to clone the computer.
Hello, I have a good antivirus (paid), I hope to be safe but without updates, it will become complicated, I am very careful on my computer, I don't open just anything, like on my phone by the way, I will soon renew my antivirus, I will talk to the specialists, I don't want to force my computer to upgrade to Windows 11 if it is not compatible, I just want to enjoy another year on Windows 10, thank you.
Hello,
As much as it pains me to repeat myself, I provided the user manual that I didn’t create and that works; but if you say it’s "too complicated" when it comes to 3 copy-pastes in the command prompt, the magic wand doesn’t exist.
It’s not certain that the end of Windows 10 security updates with security software endangers the user "who doesn’t do just anything" but if we want to make a choice, we have to take responsibility for it until the end.
Hello, this morning there was the sign "sign up now" which I did, I'm asked for my Microsoft address and then the last four digits of my phone number to send me a code, which I provided, once the code was entered, it redirects me again to my last phone numbers, I did it 4 times! And nothing, still no registration! I will wait until tomorrow, thank you.
Yeah, it's better to wait a bit – the rollout of the ESU by Microsoft seems to be gradual, and some users have reported the same delay when registering. If it doesn't show up after a day or two, you can try again or restart your system before trying again. Sometimes, their servers take time to sync your account details.
