Hello,

My Brother MFC-J4625DW printer is telling me that my ink absorber is full even though I've changed it and reset the purge counter to zero.

However, after resetting the purge counter, the printer still indicates that there is an issue with my ink absorber because it says it's almost full, which allows me to only make 2 prints before it tells me that the absorber is full again.

Also, it no longer prints in black. Just before I changed the absorber, when it said it was almost full, I was having issues with the black ink, but since my cartridge was almost empty, I ordered a new cartridge which I could only test after the change was made. But it doesn't produce any black at all now. I've tried cleaning the print heads, but I can't get any black lines.

So to summarize, I have a problem with black output, and after every two prints (printouts of the print head cleaning pattern), my absorber is full...

I'm freaking out!

Hello

You tried to reset it using this tutorial from the official Brother website:

Thank you for your response, but in the end, I replaced the cartridges with new ones and repeated the procedure, and it worked. Maybe having a completely empty cartridge causes bugs.

Hi,

It's true that if a cartridge is empty, the machine thinks the ink absorber is

full; it's systematic.

Good luck and thanks for the update anyway.

See you on CCM.
