Hello,
It is extremely rare for me to sign a petition.... but in this case, I did it.... Microsoft is abusing!
On one hand, they exploit the concerns people will have about using an outdated machine... (even if, when we see the deluge of security flaws that are "patched" during the "life" of an operating system... it raises doubts about the usual "security guarantees".....) ... And on the other hand, they will try to "cast a wide net"... by encouraging people to create a Microsoft account to obtain the extra "security"... -If they don't resign themselves to changing machines...
(For this last point, I assume this option is only available to people with an account... personally, I don't have one and I don't want one...)
Aside from that, it is indeed a blatant waste of materials that is being suggested... Waste particularly of raw materials... As if it were "normal" to continue like this... But "well"... ethics and multinationals are worlds that do not meet -except sometimes in hollow advertising arguments to greenwash their image....
Already for previous versions, I hadn't given in to the pressures... and I kept my old XP until 2015... replacing it with the current one under W10... which will still work by leaving it "as is"... until the hardware lets me down.... or as had been the case with XP.... too many software that were no longer compatible with their own updates over time...
In the long run.... (not based on Microsoft's recommendations, but on how my machine operates...) I will determine my choice, but "everything" is pushing me towards LINUX...
It's progressing, yes, yes, it's progressing....................
My mission is to kill time, and his is to kill me in turn.

The question is not whether we can or cannot upgrade to Windows 11 and whether there are workarounds.
What is unacceptable is that Microsoft is asking for €30 to receive Windows 10 updates for just one year.
This is the point of the petition that demands free updates for Windows 10 until 2030.
