Hello,

The space taken up by the files to be cleaned remains symbolic, at best a few dozen GB if we haven't also cleaned the large downloads folder or emails with large attachments.

It's not this that saturates a 1 TB space, nor will cleaning it allow for significant space recovery: it is then occupied by a considerable number of large games or big videos from which we must be willing to part with some or to store the data elsewhere.

Hello,

You can delete everything in the folder
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

In the search box, type Disk Cleanup and choose > C:

You can choose to clean "system files", "Previous Windows installations" if any, as well as everything else.

Set your Internet browser to download to a folder on D:\ if there is a partition or drive D:\ rather than in your directory C:\UsersYourName\Downloads

You can store elsewhere on D:\ or on an external drive what is in your personal subfolders of C:\Users\YourName\...

TreeSize Free can help see what is taking up the most space

Then clean up with:

Wise Disk Cleaner
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/24193-wise-disk-cleaner/

ATF-Cleaner
https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/atf_cleaner.html

Then right-click on This PC > Properties > System Protection

Or "Search" for systempropertiesprotection.exe

Choose C:\

Configure > Delete

Go back > Create

Hello,

It is likely that the lack of space is affecting the 128 GB SSD.
Windows and some programs are installed on this SSD.

Is there still space on the 1 TB HDD?

If so, you can do 2 things:

1) Move the user folders (Documents, Downloads, Videos, etc.) to the 1 TB disk.

https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/263-changer-l-emplacement-des-dossiers-par-defaut-de-windows-10/

Read the article completely. It is recommended to create the new folders on D before doing the move.

--------------------------------

2) On D, create 2 folders identical to those on C: Program Files and Program Files (x86)

Then uninstall the software that is taking up space on C and reinstall it on D.
Do not just copy them! That won’t work. It will take a while to do this, of course.
Some software does not allow any location other than C and does not give you the option to choose the disk.
But this works for most programs.

----------------------------

Once you have also performed the usual cleaning operations, you should have a bit more space.

Perform a complete storage analysis on the computer and check what is taking up the most space. Pay particular attention to AppData.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.
