Hello would be the least of courtesies!
It's probably the VoiceOver caption panel, an accessibility feature on macOS (Apple's screen reader). It appears when VoiceOver is activated, and it announces the current focus, like "You are currently on a text element" to indicate that the cursor is on a text field.
To make it disappear:
Press Command + F5 (on a Mac keyboard) to disable VoiceOver. If it's already activated, it toggles (turns on/off).
If your Mac has a Touch ID button (on recent models), press it three times quickly.
If you can navigate: Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > VoiceOver and uncheck "Enable VoiceOver".
If it's not on a Mac or if that doesn't solve it, provide more details about your operating system and when it appears!
