Xiaomi BW500 camera video stream issue

Hello,

I recently purchased 2 Xiaomi BW500 cameras for outdoor surveillance, I started configuring them and everything went well (I should specify that when I configured them, my phone was connected to the local Wi-Fi). I finish the configuration and first test while keeping my smartphone connected to the local Wi-Fi, then I switch to the phone's 5G and I manage to get the video feed in both cases. After a few minutes (once I had exited the app and restarted it), I no longer see the video feed even though the cameras were well connected since it displayed their battery status. So what I do is attempt to reset them and reconfigure them from scratch, once done, I start getting the video feed again, but now it lasts longer, I even moved away for a long time and it worked... Until it went back to the exact same scenario, no more video feed. And also, I noticed that when I reconfigure both to try again, there is always one that works and the other does not. I've repeated the reconfiguration step several times, but in vain.

Could someone shed some light on the subject, knowing that I am leaving in a day and need to have surveillance.

    Hello,

    "Well connected" makes it possible to transmit data, like battery status... But for a video, it can be different... in fact, the signal transmission works well... but does not correspond to the standard for reconstructing an image... encoding, frame rate, bit rate... it doesn't take much for a transmission to not reproduce an image...

    So, it is essential to check the emitted data and those expected by the receiver..??

    There may also be a Wi-Fi issue, such as the key or something else, because the local Wi-Fi comes from the ISP's box; while the one from your smartphone has a different source... 4G or 5G for example... and the Wi-Fi key is not the same..

    Switching is not immediate.

    So here are some indications that can guide you..!! but it could also be something else...

    You mean that there is an issue with the local Wifi that prevents the video stream from being displayed?

    I didn't say it like that.. And it's not an anomaly.

    1° If the Wifi is too slow (low speed), it cannot stream video..

    2° The Wifi key for the Local network is not the same as the Wifi key for your Smartphone... so you can only be connected to one of them at a time, but not both.

    So, you need to enter the key for the other one too... I don’t know how your setup is installed..? But the connection will be made to the one that receives the best, with the strongest signal.. and all of this is normal.

      These are two wireless cameras that are configured and connected via a local Wi-Fi, and can be accessed on a phone through its connection or even the local Wi-Fi. Moreover, in addition to the battery status, the cameras send me notifications regarding motion detection, which proves that the camera is working and that it is indeed the video stream on the app that is malfunctioning (Xiaomi Home).

      P.S.: What do you mean by the Wi-Fi key?

        The wifi key is a code made up of several numbers + letters + symbols, quite long and complicated to prevent curious spies from accessing your images.

        This key is personal and different for each Wifi.

        -- there is one in the BOX (local network)

        -- and another on the Smartphone (shared connection)

        Without this key, the connection via Wifi is impossible.. But it is possible via cable.

        -- But if I understand your situation, you would want to view your video images during your holidays, several hundred kilometers away..? Then you will definitely need to go through the internet..? and have an internet connection that links you to your surveillance system...

        Maybe it goes through Xiami..?
