Corrupted MP3 file

Hello everyone,
I got an audiobook in MP3 format and I can't play it properly.
At first, I thought the file was too large since it said it had a duration of 4 hours, but I realized that the actual length of the file is 20 minutes.
Specifically, when I start it, I can listen to the beginning of the book, but some words are cut off. Then the voice speeds up and then the playback stops completely.
I tried several players and several devices, but the same problem occurs. I wanted to know if I could "fix" these files.
Thank you in advance
PS: I'm sorry if I'm not in the right section of the forum

I wanted to clarify that I used the MP3val program to correct the files.
It detected that the files had a problem but was unable to repair them.
Here is what it says in the message:
Analyzing file "C:\Users\\Documents\livre\roue du temps audio\WoT T01\00 - Prologue.mp3"...
WARNING: "C:\Users\\Documents\livre\roue du temps audio\WoT T01\00 - Prologue.mp3": VBR detected, but no VBR header is present. Seeking may not work properly.
WARNING: "C:\Users\\Documents\livre\roue du temps audio\WoT T01\00 - Prologue.mp3": Different MPEG versions or layers in one file. See related INFO message for details.

Done!
Hello
Check if any updates have fixed the missing headers issue; there are reported fixes for the mp3 files.
