Antivirus protection for Windows 7

Good evening, I am away for quite a while. I forwarded my old laptop running Windows 7 Professional. My neighbor is offering to let me use his internet access, but I don't have any protection and I don't like nosy people.
Of course, if possible without a subscription.
What can you offer me?
Thank you.

Good evening,
Can you be more specific? I don't see how your neighbor can grant you access to his internet since it can only be personal and he will remain the sole beneficiary, despite his action being prohibited by his contract.
Furthermore, this is a subscription unless he has contracted access through a plan, for example on a smartphone, which can only be in his name.
Moreover, I don't see how you could use his account, especially since he is away, other than through your personal phone account (smartphone or 4G modem).
Finally, you ask what a forum can offer instead of a service provider and this without a subscription: the answer is "nothing".
The only way to access the internet "for free" is to connect to your own box or to public access points available in hotels, airports, fast food places, or elsewhere.
Unless I misunderstood your request, which is possible, in which case another participant may propose a solution.
As for antivirus protection, I’ll leave specialists to respond, knowing that updates are no longer available and I’m not sure that market antivirus programs cover this version of Windows.
Hello,
Regarding the security software, older versions of Comodo are still in principle updated for the antivirus.

Formally speaking, security software cannot necessarily detect vulnerabilities that have not been patched, but this will also be the case in October after the end of Windows 10 support and even in the meantime for all versions since it takes a month to patch around 150 vulnerabilities for each: there is no effective security software other than what’s between your ears.
A very basic software is enough to block basic network access attempts, no software can do this against targeted actions from skilled individuals.
