After Windows update, unable to access 1fichier.com

Hello,

I am subscribed to 1fichier.com. On January 31, a Windows update took place. Since then, when I try to connect to 1fichier.com, I get: "This site cannot provide a secure connection." How can I resolve this connection issue?

Thank you.

Hello

Only visit websites approved by Microsoft.

Sometimes you can still connect with your phone.

If several sites are the same, check the antivirus settings.

You can try looking at the SSL certificates, in case the site's certificate changed on the same date or expired on the 31st, but with the new version of Windows, the PC might no longer be recognized as the one authenticated before, the antivirus settings might be different, Windows security settings might be different, browser settings may have changed, DNS may be modified,

Hello,

“Only visit sites that are approved by Microsoft.”

Is that serious? If so, how can I put this... Run away from this system!

Uh, don't panic, I'm not serious.

But what do the win updates do repeatedly?

-"If your linux becomes unbootable after installing the security or preview updates of August 2024"

Yes, it was a security update. But not for linux.

But what about the Windows updates? What do they do repeatedly?

-"If your Linux becomes unbootable after installing the security or preview updates from August 2024"

Yes, it was a security update. But not for Linux.

-"Boot into your device's firmware settings.
-"Disable secure boot"

-"Delete the update"

The one for Windows in Linux?

Don't go back to the OS not certified by Microsoft.

Uh, don't panic, I'm not serious.

But these are instructions from Microsoft if your Linux isn't working anymore.

>>Sometimes you can still log in with your phone if you can't with your PC on the website you're subscribed to, that's something to try.

It's just something on the PC that tells you the site is not secure and it's blocked, making it harder to access.

If you're not comfortable with tinkering around in the command line in the microcodes, the OS is waiting for a next update in September 2024, Microsoft said.

-"On systems with dual-boot Linux and Windows, no additional steps are required after installing the September 2024 updates or later."

I'm going to wait for the update on February 31st, just in case it gives me access again to the site I'm subscribed to; I understand nothing about workarounds in the registry keys in the command line.

Hello,

By applying the recommended settings from IDM, it worked.

Or maybe it was just a stroke of luck, I haven't changed the custom settings in IDM for ages, or it could be due to the servers of 1fichier.com, probably not from the latest W11 update version 24h2.

I was able to download files after this update.

Browser used was Firefox by default, but I couldn't do it either with Edge or Chrome.

In the meantime, I made sure that application control was disabled in the Windows Defender antivirus + disabling SmartScreen. (It's not good to do that, but it can help temporarily).

I could have easily done a test simply by temporarily disabling Windows Defender.

To be continued....

Hello

It's fine to mention FB here as well:

Access to the FB site is currently experiencing bugs and anomalies.

It might still work from the phone.

Wait for FB to modify its servers, as mentioned on the ccm forum and link on totalbug.

Read the comments on totalbug from February 4th, today at 5 PM we can go back to at least January 19th for information, including an express update imposed by Windows on a PC that is working again since.
