Unable to access certain sites

Hello, I'm not sure I'm posting this message in the right place, I apologize..  So I've been unable to access the Adecco site for some time now; I believe, though I'm not certain, that this started after I installed the paid version of Avast. This site is blocked on my PC and also on my phone (only when connected to Wi-Fi)  I've looked through the antivirus, the browser, etc., but I haven't found a solution as I'm not very good with computers ;) so thank you!  The error message is roughly: "This site is inaccessible", "Check your connection", "Check the proxy and firewall."

Hello,  Did you buy an Avast license?  Avast blocks access to certain sites even if they are secure because it performs an HTTPS scan  Try this: Open Avast Go to → Components Web Shield →- Customize Uncheck the box → Allow HTTPS scanning  Or add the exception for the file/site in Avast  Check the proxy settings in your browsers here  Do you have any other protection or security software - like Malwarebytes or others - any extensions (one from Avast for example) in your browser  You can also repair or reset Chrome Repair with Chrome Cleanup Tool Run Adwcleaner Run Malwarebytes  Reset Chrome settings here  See you later!   -- pistouri

By any chance, does the Adecco site work with another browser?  Internet Explorer, Firefox, ?  Edge if you are on Windows 10?  Have you updated the definitions and the program of Avast?  What is your version of Windows (10, 8, 7)?  Talk to you later -- pistouri

What does it give with another browser?  We can reset the connection with the command prompt  Do you have a fixed IP or DNS?  Your provider? There have been issues with FREE lately  Have you tried contacting the site to see if the issue is on their end?  -- pistouri

We are going to reset the connection  Since you are on Windows 7 for the command prompt Go to the Start button In the search box type → cmd Once displayed, right-click on → Command Prompt (Admin) Copy and paste these commands then press Enter for each of them  netsh winsock reset  netsh int ip reset  ipconfig /release  ipconfig /renew  ipconfig /flushdns  Type exit or close the command prompt window Restart the PC Test on → Jobs  Ps: Make sure to select → Command Prompt (Admin)

If you have kept the Avast license, you should try uninstalling it to make sure it’s not the issue.  Or you can still back it up, export it, the function is in the Avast settings, I believe.  Avast can be uninstalled using its utility → avastclear  Otherwise, try to log in with a new password on the Adecco site in your account or on the login screen (forgot password)     A+  -- scalpel

Another idea:  Save your Google Chrome bookmarks  Uninstall Google Chrome using Revo During the uninstallation for the scan check → Advanced select and delete everything  Restart the PC Perform a disk cleanup to remove residues by checking the temporary files  Restart the PC again  Reinstall Google Chrome   A+  -- pistouri
