Unable to access Github
SolvedGotwin -
Good evening everyone,
After conducting several searches on the Internet, I still cannot solve the problem that I will explain to you:
It is simply impossible for me to access GitHub. I tried changing my DNS, clearing the DNS cache on my PC and my browser (Google Chrome), I tried another browser, and I attempted to run the ping command with CMD, and here is what the command returns:

Good evening, I just found the answer!
In fact, the problem was that there was the GitHub address in the Windows Hosts file (I hadn't touched it).
I therefore deleted the domain name and everything went back to normal.
For those who have the same problem as I did, here is the path to the hosts file for Windows 10:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
All you need to do is run your Notepad as an administrator and modify the file.
Have a good evening and thanks anyway.
Hello,
Launch Google Chrome in incognito mode and go to github
==► Browse in private mode with Chrome
And see if you can access the site.
In normal mode, go to Github with Google Chrome.
Click on the '' i '' at the beginning of the address bar:

I think you will see the message --► Not Secure Connection.
Normally, the connection is secure:

Besides the site being down, often it's the antivirus that's to blame, as some analyze the HTTPs connection and block access to the site.
And an antivirus extension or another extension may also be the culprit.
A reset of Google Chrome may help, but back up your bookmarks first.
==► Reset Chrome settings to default
Or with ==► ResetBrowser
Hoping that with another browser, if you have one handy, it works.
On the day and at the time of your question, the site was accessible; I checked myself.
If everything is back to normal before this post, still keep these procedures in mind.

Hello, thank you very much for your quick response and sorry for my late reply.
I have completed all the steps you indicated; however, I cannot access it from private browsing or another browser, and resetting Google Chrome changed nothing.
However, I do see the unsecured connection message as you mentioned.
I also noticed that in Google Chrome I had the following error: ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID
while on Edge I have this one: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
I look forward to your advice.
Have a good evening.

Hello,
Great for the solution.
You only modified a single line (a domain name).
With RstHOSTS, you reset the HOSTS file (without opening Notepad).
Good continuation.
thank you so much you saved me I've been looking for the solution for so long and now it works thank youuuuuuuuuuu
Thanks, I searched for at least a week to solve the problem and it turns out it was quite simple. You're a lifesaver, man!
Thank you very much! Additionally, it allowed me to fix YouTube Studio and Steam which were not working, and it was just because the host file contained those domain names. Thank you so much!!!
