Amazon account "temporarily locked"

Hello,

My Amazon account has been "temporarily locked" by Amazon following the password change I made, as requested by the site, while trying to log in.

Here is the message from the site:

"Account temporarily locked

We have detected unusual activity on your account and have temporarily locked it. Please contact customer service for assistance."

Now I can't buy anything on Amazon because I can't log in. Apparently, you need to log in to purchase or use a gift card.

My son received an Amazon gift card for Christmas and I can't use it! I don't even know the amount.

I don't see how to contact customer service without logging in, nor do I understand why the site has locked me out. Their FAQ does not contain a topic on locked accounts.

I rarely use my account and I have no payment methods saved. I really don't see what problem Amazon has detected.

I would at least like to be able to use the gift card given to my son.

Thank you to the community if someone can enlighten me, I have no other contact.
