SCART cable causing the TV to crash
SolvedClementine -
Hello,
I'm seeking advice: I recently tried to connect a Wii U to a relatively recent small flat-screen television, and the result was that the television "fried," the screen has remained black since I plugged in the console's SCART cable, and the only thing that lights up is the red LED on the television. A few weeks later, I tried to connect an old VCR to another television, a flat-screen one about ten years old... And the same result! The television that was working perfectly no longer turns on, and the red LED is flashing... I don't understand what's happening, and I would appreciate any advice! Thank you very much in advance.

Hello,
I have connected dozens of what were called home computers (Atari, Amiga, Thomson, etc.) to televisions of all ages without ever having any problems.
If a television breaks down when connecting two different devices, it is likely that the cable is at fault, which could short-circuit two pins of the PERITEL socket at the television's input.
Rather than continuing to destroy your equipment, it would be better, in my opinion, to change the cable or have a source (the Wii U for example, which should still work) tested by a TV service center (with a new cable).
