ASUS Gaming Laptop Turns On and Immediately Shuts Down

Hello everyone.
This morning, to my surprise, when I turned on my computer, I found that it immediately turned off.
I press the power button, everything lights up for half a second and then directly turns off. It doesn't even start up. Whether plugged in or not, the result is the same.
I'm not very good with computers, not at all, actually. Does anyone have any idea?

If the charger is dead and the battery has fallen below its safety % level, that leads to this kind of behavior from the laptop.
This symptom is sometimes due to a battery charging issue and thus a power supply issue; is the charger working? Does the laptop's charging light turn on?
A quick test can be done for free at a big-box computer service center or at a laptop repair shop; trying another charger will instantly determine if that's the problem.
