Touch Pad has disappeared

Hello,

I have scoured the various discussions on this subject in the forum, however, I can't find any answers to my problem, which seems to vary depending on the models of computers.

My problem is as follows: My Touch Pad has disappeared since this morning. I can no longer use it at all. It has nothing to do with the feature on HP that allows you to disable it by double-tapping on it. In my case, the cursor no longer appears on the screen at all and the Touch Pad itself no longer appears in the device manager. However, the devices for two mice appear (IHM Mouse & PS/2 Compatible Mouse). There is no trace of the latter, it's as if it suddenly disappeared from the system. Could it be a product obsolescence? What would you recommend?

My computer is an HP Elite x2 1012 G1.

    Hello,

    Have you tried installing or reinstalling the driver from the manufacturer's website?

      Hello, thank you for your response. I tried to install a driver from this site, the name of which is fingerprint. The problem is that I don't even know if it's the right driver. In any case, I installed it, and it hasn't changed anything. I tried to find what corresponds to the touchpad driver by searching on the Internet, but every time the names are improbable and I can't figure out exactly which driver - if it's not fingerprint - refers to the touchpad. Do you think it's another driver?

        No, sorry for you, the FingerPrint is a fingerprint reader.

        Instead, please install the HP driver and software detection utility.

    Hello again,

    I tried to install the program you mentioned, but it refuses to install. An error occurs during the installation. I've tried three times, including once after turning off and restarting the computer, but nothing works.

    Additionally, I came across a program called RECOVERY MANAGER. It lists what apparently constitutes all the drivers installed on the computer. I have attached two screenshots showing this list. I am unable to find the driver that might correspond to the Touch Pad, nor even if it appears in this list. Do you know which of these drivers could be the right one if it is listed?
