Hello everyone,

Following a problem with my landline, Orange intervened remotely to fix it.

As soon as it was repaired, I tried a number... a voice tells me that my landline is not configured to the Livebox 5.

Since then, every time I reconnect the entire system (Livebox 5 and landline), after having turned it off during storm risks and when I’m away, I receive what seems like a call from an inaccessible unknown with a red flashing light on my Gigaset AS 405.

I have to go to the envelope (received messages) to delete it, there’s no other way to access it.

After that, everything is back to normal.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Why didn’t I continue with machine language?
Don’t leave tools lying around in front of me!

Hello,

I didn't understand everything:

 After everything falls into place.

Does it work or not?

And there you go, there it is ....

But misery, how annoying the line spacing is!!

Good evening Brupala,

Thank you for this quick contact.

Orange intervened following a disruption of my landline, only the Internet was functioning normally.

Since this problem:

I turn off the entire system as usual during thunderstorms and every time I leave my home.

When I plug it back in, a call from an "Unknown" immediately occurs.

If I don't delete it, it remains permanently displayed, flashing on my Gigaset 405.

After Orange's intervention on my line following the disruption of my landline, I turned everything off, then turned the entire system back on; the landline was working again, but the "Unknown" is still being displayed.

Best regards

OK,

I think it needs to be reviewed with Orange, do you often cut off your box like that?

Yes, since I have been taking care of various associations since my retirement.

I'm leaving the internet.

Have a good evening and thank you.

Hello,

How is this Gigaset AS405 connected to the Livebox 5?
With a phone cable or not?

Is it really the AS405 (without built-in answering machine - one button on the base) that you have? It's not an AS405A (with built-in answering machine - multiple buttons on the base)?

The indicator light on the left screen button that is blinking indicates at least one missed call.

If you "go to the envelope," you stop the blinking but also open the "Call log" and the screen then displays something like:

Calls 01+02  (one new call and two old ones already seen)
Msg. ext 01+03  (one new message and three old ones already seen)

IF you have an AS405A (with built-in answering machine), it may also display
Rep. int 01+00 (one new message and no old ones unread)

What does your handset display when you open the call log?

I strongly suspect the presence of one or more messages on the Orange voicemail. To check, just dial 3103

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Hello Baladur 13,

My Gigaset 405 (no other reference so voicemail) is connected to the first blue socket on the left side via the original cable, always.

The problem, at the risk of repeating myself, is that every time the entire system (Livebox, landline, and PC) is disconnected from the power supply, when restarting, there is a display of "Unknown" with no possibility to call it, with the red blinking.

When going to the "Envelope," this "Unknown" shows only the option "Delete entry."

On the 3103, the nice lady tells me, "You have no new message."

Same when checking previous messages in the main menu, the voicemail is empty.

After Orange's intervention (which lasted a good hour), the landline worked again and is functioning correctly.

I myself did a test via Orange's menu:

https://tester-depanner-vos-services.orange.fr/

The line is not disturbed.

What is annoying is having to redo this maneuver at each reconnection.

Should I maybe configure my landline?

By resetting the "Base," I'm afraid of losing my data list.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

You should especially stop turning off your box and your phone....

These devices don’t like unstable situations.

If, upon opening the call log, you see "unknown" displayed, it means the phone considers it has received a call without the number being transmitted to it.

This situation is likely related to the fact that you turn everything off, including the box and phone, and that when powered back on, the box is able to inform you of a call but is unable to subsequently transmit the number, hence "unknown."

A solution that will definitively eliminate the blinking: disable the display of missed calls.

See the manual on page 9.

Excerpt

I completely agree with Brulapa regarding the interruptions of the box and phone, which are not very useful.
