Hello,
I changed my smartphone and had to create a Watsapp account, but this smartphone doesn't suit me.
Since I kept the old one that works well, how can I avoid losing the Watsapp messages?
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely

Hello
On your new phone, "Settings, Apps, Whatsapp, Clear data"
Restart Whatsapp on the new one. On the account creation screen, a small button appears at the top right. Click on it, "export from another". This will display a QR Code.
From the old phone, in Settings at the top, click on the QR-Code icon then "scan the code". This will export the conversations and settings to the new one.

Hello,
Thank you for this interesting trick that I didn't know about.
I have a slightly more complex case, I have 2 WhatsApps, one "professional" and one normal. And I also check both on my Mac. The professional one with WhatsApp Web and the normal one with the WhatsApp Mac app, and I need some wise advice:
I lost my phone at sea and I still had the old phone with my professional WhatsApp, it asked me to update the app which I did, and I saw all the conversations that hadn't been synchronized since June 2023 which was understandable.
Since I could see all the conversations including 2024 on my WhatsApp Web on my Mac which had stayed connected, I thought it was great, except that instead of updating the conversations as I thought it would do, it did the opposite, it synchronized my Mac with all the conversations up to June 2023 deleting all the rest and continues the conversations from today’s date. (1 year gap :-(
So, I haven't reinstalled the normal WhatsApp on my phone with my private phone yet, because I'm afraid it will do the same thing and delete all the conversations that I can still see on my computer.
So I'm looking for information on the subject. I can export the conversations I have on my computer with the media (hello hassle, because it's one by one) and I can consult them, (2nd hassle: discussions in txt files with the names of the attachments saved separately), but then I don't think there's a way to reimport them. If anyone has information, I would be interested.
Thank you all
