Hello, after a good hundred hours of farming, building, etc., I switched my game version from 1.20.3 to 1.7.4. What a surprise it was when, upon reconnecting to my world, I found that I had no constructions left at all, just what I had in my inventory when I disconnected. I searched the forum to find a solution and saw a suggestion regarding backups, but I don't understand how to do it. I have a backup of my world a few minutes before its disappearance. (I should mention that I'm on Java.)
Do you have any other solution?

Hello!

To revert to a previous backup of your Minecraft world, you just need to retrieve the backup file from where it's stored on your computer and replace it in the "saves" folder of your Minecraft.
Here's how to proceed step by step:
1. Close Minecraft if it’s not already closed.
2. Go to the folder where your backups are stored. By default, it’s located at this path: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
3. Locate the backup you want to restore (it should have the same name as your world in Minecraft) and copy it.
4. Go to the "saves" folder of your Minecraft, normally in the same location as before, and paste the backup you just copied.
5. Since you are suddenly replacing a backup, a message asking you to confirm this action should appear. Click "Replace".
6. Relaunch Minecraft, you should see your world as it was at the time of the backup.
If you still can’t restore your backup, it's possible that your file is corrupted. In this case, unfortunately you'll have to restart your world unless you have another working backup.
