Hello.
It’s either a driver issue or a hardware problem.
Here are some solutions.

I put my old processor back in and I no longer have the problem. Is it dead?
First, you need to be more precise. To get an accurate answer, the question should at least be clear; here you are talking about an old versus a new processor and it’s unclear exactly what you are referring to.
Your question should have been:
"I installed a new processor and since then I have this error message, followed by the exact model of both processors and the brand and model of the motherboard."
my new processor that I removed is a Ryzen 7 5800x that I bought less than a year ago and the old one that I put on my motherboard (b450m PRO M2-MAX) is a Ryzen 5 3500x
The Ryzen 7 5800x processor is compatible with your motherboard but be careful, as indicated on the compatible CPU page, you need to make sure the BIOS is updated to the correct version for it to work. Have you updated your BIOS?
To update the BIOS, you will need to do it with your old processor. Only install your new processor after you have updated the BIOS.
Once your PC is running and you are on Windows, remember to also update the drivers for your motherboard, especially the chipset driver.
Hello, I did what you told me but it keeps restarting on its own and the error message in the event viewer is still present.
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: processor core
Error source: Machine Check Exception
Error type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 5

What can I do?
