PC ThinkPad L540 - Error 1802: Unauthorized network card

Hello,

I bought a L540 PC via leboncoin for work. Unfortunately, I have a big issue.

My old PC connects to the Wi-Fi network without any problem (and so does my phone), but with the Lenovo PC, I can't connect. It seems to be a Wi-Fi 6 protocol (I checked the Wi-Fi properties on the old PC).

I thought about changing the base Wi-Fi card (an Intel N7260) to a new Intel AX200NGW.

But when starting the PC, I get the error message "1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in". I've done some research, but the topics are too old and the links no longer work. For example: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-6734309-error-1802-unauthorized-network-card

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? What can I do to make the Wi-Fi work?

Thank you for your future responses!

    Hello,

    See here.

There is no miraculous solution except to change it if the card is not recognized by the operating system and authorized by the BIOS, which has a list for this purpose, or if in that BIOS itself the choice of the WiFi adapter is not the right one, or if it cannot be plugged into another slot on the motherboard.

I came across this site, but the links no longer work and when I try to follow the procedure, it's impossible (for example, starting the BIOS and disabling the WIFI card, I can't find the option).

We don't quite understand what you did.

It may happen that some recent Boxes are not backwards compatible with Wifi 5, but with Wifi 6, this is new information, unless there’s an intervention from the operating system itself (which one?).

You removed the old Wifi card, there was no device manager conflict and it wasn't connecting?

If it’s the new one that is not "authorized", the solutions are to either switch it for one that is or try one of the modifications indicated in the link in <1>.
