Hello,

I would like to reinstall Windows 11 on my laptop, but when I select the main partition, the message I get is: unable to install Windows, partition locked by BitLocker.

Although I have the BitLocker codes, I don't know how to proceed.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello.

I just read everything that has been said from the beginning, as apparently BitLocker is preventing you from installing Windows 11 since you can no longer access anything and you say you have the BitLocker key, disable BitLocker via the command prompt, for that access the command prompt through the advanced options (see the screenshot below).

On this page you will find the Manage-bde scripts with which you can unlock an encrypted drive, you can also modify the BitLocker key on a drive, change it, delete it, etc., it's up to you to choose the most appropriate method, be careful the page should be read carefully and thoroughly.

Since I have no other ideas to suggest, this message will be my last.

Good luck.

I take the liberty to reach out to you again,

I tried the command to disable BitLocker, with the command

 manage-bde -protectors -disable C: -rc 2

but I got the error: the specified drive does not contain the operating system, code (0X80310028).

C: is indeed my main drive, and I'll send you in the next message the image of the contents.

You should read the page I indicated, you need to go through the advanced options, which are clearly stated, excerpt from the page:

 Which partition needs to be deleted?

None (for now).

First of all. Why not try to recover Windows first.

- By deleting the file of the EASEUS service (and not the service).
- There might also be restoration options available.

.

According to the image of the 4-5 partitions on your computer that you posted.

The small partitions in MB must contain the boot, the license, etc.

It's those in GB that are of interest → the 447GB partition contains Windows.

If BitLocker blocks the installation, you will try to format the 477GB.

⇨ Before formatting and reinstalling. ⇦

By the way. I tried SC stop UnService and the SC command does not work with the command prompt on the MediaTool USB support.

So.

Instead. Try by deleting the file of the service (ensserver.exe), which is located;
⇨ C:\ Program Files (x86) \ EaseUS \ ENS \ ensserver.exe

● In the command prompt, at X:\Sources> enter CD /d C:\ to go to C:
From there, the DIR command should display the usual C: Windows directories.

● Once at C:\> enter CD "Program Files (x86)", ..and CD EASEUS, ..and CD ENS
● And delete the file with DEL  /a  /f  ensserver.exe
● Then, check if Windows boots up?

If not.

I installed the MediaTool ISO for Windows 11 on a USB.
And in my case, also when clicking on Troubleshoot, there is no Reset PC.
Like you, I reach the "Advanced Options" window.

And yet our Windows installation works?
Anyway.
⇨ Have you tried a restore point with; System Restore.
⇨ Or, System Image Recovery. → → next image ↑  ↓
.. There is also the Command Prompt and; RSTRUI which opens restore points.

.

P.S.

I installed Ubuntu on a USB using Rufus (== 4.63GB of space used). So a 5GB USB should handle Ubuntu.

To create the Ubuntu bootable USB. Just plug in the USB drive and launch Rufus.Exe, it automatically detects (and displays at the top of its window) the USB drive. Then, still in the Rufus window, just click the [Select] button and find the Ubuntu .ISO file. From there, the [Start] button (at the bottom of the window) becomes highlighted ⇒ ready to start creating the Ubuntu USB drive.

How to use the Ubuntu USB.
When booting from the USB, 4-5 lines will be displayed at the top left.
- The 1st line "highlighted" = Try or install Ubuntu ⇐ press [Enter].
After loading drivers/firmware ..
A window will appear with the choices; Try or Install.
- First select the language French from the left column.
- And then click [Try] (and not Install)
The Ubuntu desktop will appear.

In the icons on the left, the 4th or 5th = Files = the Ubuntu File Manager. By clicking on "Other locations" at the bottom of the "Files" window, the Windows directories will appear --> Click on Windows and then, click on Users, and then your user account (and other dirs) to trace your files to back up. And in \Program Files (x86)\EASEUS\ENS\ to delete the service file and check if on the next reboot Windows will start.

Thank you very much for your message @Wizdo StatutMembre, I am trying to remove the easus and I’ll give you the result right away.

As I told you, I’m open to any solution that will allow me to get my machine back with the files and software in place. Formatting everything is like losing a lot for me, even though I have backups on the side.

I have already downloaded the Ubuntu ISO file, and I understand how to create the ISO, but I didn’t quite grasp what I need to do next with the launch of Ubuntu.

I want to reiterate that I have the BitLocker codes, and each time I want to enter the command prompt, I first need to enter those codes.

The SYSTEM IMAGE RECOVERY option doesn’t work for me; the machine indicates that there is no previously saved image.

I was under the impression that it was done automatically.

Update: the ENS directory does not exist under the EaseUS directory

in the \EaseUS\ directory, when I do dir, only the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard directory is displayed.

Hello

If you still have access to your old Windows 11, you unlock BitLocker and launch the reinstall utility from Windows.

Hello @flo88 StatutContributeur,

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to it.

The computer is stuck indefinitely on the LENOVO logo, without booting.

Have you tried reinstalling with w11 pro? Because BitLocker is not effective on other versions.

  the SYSTEM IMAGE RECOVERY option does not work for me.

OK.

And with the other option that displays the restore points window, with;

--> System Restore

--> Or also in the command prompt with RSTRUI

 the ENS directory does not exist under the easeUS directory

And yet the FRST.txt report indicates that \ENS is in this directory;

C:\Program Files (x86)\EaseUS\ENS\ensserver.exe ⇦ file to delete.

 Here is the content of the Exe files in this "IMAGE" directory

The image from your DIR comes from the directory ==>> ..\EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard\ ..
==> C:\Program Files (x86)\EaseUS\EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard\ ..

While the \ENS directory is in the previous directory ==> \easeUS\

Try the DIR from \EaseUS\ as the following line;
DIR C:\"Program Files (x86)"\EaseUS   <<-- which should list the \ENS directory

 I understood how to create the iso, but I didn't quite grasp what I need to do next with launching Ubuntu.

On startup, you arrive at the black screen with the 4-5 lines in the top left.

In French, Try becomes Essayer .. --> After that, you arrive at the Ubuntu desktop.

By hovering the mouse over the icons on the left side of the screen. The 4th or 5th icon is called; Files = the File Manager. In "Files," by clicking on "Other Locations" at the bottom left, you will have the Windows directories. Click on Windows and then on Users, etc.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

But I made the installation USB from the Windows site, and there wasn't specifically the Windows 11 Pro version, just Windows 11. And that's what I used to create the bootable installation USB.

Another detail, the "reinstall" option is not available. As soon as you click on troubleshooting, the "advanced options" appear.

PS: I also made a USB with Windows 10 and I have the same results.

PS2: I have the BitLocker access codes. And I still have a strong intuition that it's EaseUS causing the problem.

You need to select W11 Pro in the choices at the beginning of the installation.

In your case, it's preferable to do a complete reinstall.

Follow this tutorial (2.4) exactly. At step nine, you will click "format," which will clear everything.

https://lecrabeinfo.net/installer-windows-11-le-guide-complet.html#installer-windows-11

Be careful, on laptops, some manufacturers reserve a specific recovery partition, which is also locked by BitLocker. If this is the case for yours, you need to use the manufacturer's recovery utility to restore the PC to its factory settings.

Here is the image I see as soon as I choose the "install now" option. Should I delete partition 3 and recreate it? Since the message that is displayed is "unable to install Windows on this partition."

 re,

Have you tried safe mode? Because if it's a problematic driver, safe mode uses different drivers.

Hello,

I don't know how to open safe mode, but I'm not sure if it will be possible to boot into safe mode when the startup is stuck on the logo without booting from the boot partition?
