Unable to use scanning on CANON printer

Hello,
I just changed my printer; it's a CANON maxify GX7050.
Quick and easy setup to connect it via Wi-Fi to my PC for printing, but impossible to scan documents.
I had an HP, so I removed the software for the old printer and downloaded the Canon IJ Scan Utility app.
I can see the app in my list, but 2 options: modify is greyed out so I can't access it, and uninstall (which I can do).
I don't understand why everything wasn't done automatically during the initial setup.
Thank you in advance if someone has a solution to explain to me.
Have a very good evening, Daniel

Good evening,
I have the same problem: no Wi-Fi scanning and very difficult to use via Bluetooth (loss of connections after your computer reboots following a system update).
I connected it with the USB cable, and since then, there's been no more scanning issues.
For print sharing = Either you share it on the computer it is connected to, but you can't turn that computer off, or you leave it on Bluetooth with the risks mentioned above. The best option for other computers is to print via Wi-Fi. Only the scanning will be done on the computer where the printer is connected via USB.
Personally, I've been doing it this way for over 5 years without any problems. Now, I haven't revisited this issue which may have changed since then, but I have the impression from reading about your problems that Wi-Fi scanning still doesn't work.
Have a good evening

I searched for " Wi-Fi printer" on this site, and many posts are dedicated to scanning issues with these printers.

Hello,
I think you should download and install the driver available on this page:
It contains IJ Scan utility and probably the other utility: IJ Network Scanner Selector EX
