this handset, when picked up, the screen turns black and this handset no longer allows me to answer or call, it no longer communicates
it often shows low battery, then as soon as you touch the batteries it shows full batteries

Is the database well-fed? Is it a model with a built-in answer machine or not...
There's a good chance that your batteries, being too old, are unable to provide the necessary power for proper operation.
Please replace them with new rechargeable batteries.
Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
Yes, the base is connected and the batteries are new, there is no answering machine.
The problem lies elsewhere.
If we pick up when it rings, the base disconnects; occasionally we can make calls but it tends to cut off after a while too.
I've ordered another phone as a result.
Several people are having the same issue and there has been no response so far; I think there is an electrical circuit problem either in the base or in the handset.
